Update on Patriotic Girl, Rachel, in Duluth, GA

Hey, guys & gals.. I'm VERY glad to report this update after my initial post yesterday. The AJC reported a new story today, reporting what's going on now. According to the AJC writer, Steve Visser:

Fourth-grader Rachel Renbarger learned a civics lesson about Old Glory the hard way, but some in Duluth hope she taught adults a lesson about taking responsibility.
"I learned a lot about the flag and how to use it and how not to use it," Rachel said Tuesday. "I respect the flag more than I used to."

Monday night, Rachel stood before the Duluth City Council, her eyes tearing and voice cracking, and said she and her 7-year-old sister, Leah, had helped paint a huge flag on her neighborhood cul-de-sac and they would remove it. Her actions won admiration from adults and attention from the media.
On Tuesday, CBS and other media outlets contacted the 9-year-old's family seeking interviews.

Parents in her neighborhood had organized the painting as part of a Fourth of July celebration last year. It sparked controversy when some neighbors worried it was jingoistic, and others said it did not show proper respect for the flag.
After school Tuesday, Rachel explained that she and her dad had researched flag etiquette before the council meeting. They learned that an 81-year-old World War II veteran was right to demand the painting be removed because it violated rules protecting the dignity of the flag.
"I knew before the meeting he was right and this was a mistake," Rachel said. "I told him I was sorry and, after that, I shook his hand."
Duluth resident Don Ogden, a prisoner in Germany after his bomber was shot down, praised Rachel's courage and candor for stepping up at the council meeting.
He called the council members and mayor a "little chicken" for recommending that the Stars and Stripes be removed because it defaced public property and could set a legal precedent for street paintings of offensive symbols, such as swastikas.
The politicians, who hail from a Gwinnett County city of 23,000 that proudly displays 600 flags on patriotic holidays, could learn from Rachel how to take responsibility for their actions, Ogden said.
"I love that little girl," Ogden said. "I feel bad because I became their enemy."
Richard Hutchinson, a Vietnam War veteran who organized the painting of the flag, has said the city should leave it alone out of respect for both the flag and the neighborhood's wishes. His wife, Linda, asked the council to take a forgive-and-forget approach to the painting.
Rachel's parents, Randy and Jill Renbarger, said they supported the council's recommendation to remove the painting by April 1.
The Hutchinsons offered to lead the cleanup.
In July, Rachel and Leah painted the stripes the day before the July 4 parade. Nearly 50 children participated in the parade, which ended at the painting on Whitney Place. Each of the children painted one of the 50 stars, Randy Renbarger said.
The Renbargers were surprised when they learned last month that City Administrator Phil McLemore had agreed to order the image removed.
"We didn't mean for it to become a civics lesson, but it turned out to be one," said Randy Renbarger, as he beamed at his eldest daughter.
"I was really proud of her when she stood up at the meeting. She spoke the truth, and she took responsibility."

This may not be the end, but it's at least a great start! I'm starting a personal campaign to see if I can find a local flag pole company who will donate not only a pole, but a flag, and the installation of same on the family's property! I really appreciate you all coming forward to voice your support. I still disagree with the way it was initially handled; but I'm glad the vet Ogden came around and himself found sorrow in the fact he caused her guilt.

GA Girl Cries "I'm sorry" for Flag Display

Okay, I know that this is not the proper way to display the flag, and it may not BE the most patriotic way to be, but DANG it! Why make a little girl cry and apologize for her patriotism? And from a vet???

According to the Al-Jazeera Constitution ~ahem~.. I mean Atlanta Journal Constitution today, a girl in Duluth got in trouble for painting the American flag on a rock in the cul-de-sac of her neighborhood. According to the story today,

Even in Duluth, a city that prides itself in being the flag capital of the U.S.A., the star-spangled banner can a be divisive symbol — especially when everybody wants to wave it and protect it in their own way.

The City Council recommended Monday that a painted image of Old Glory be removed from a street in Mayor Shirley Lasseter's own neighborhood. Children and their parents had painted the banner the last Fourth of July in a display of civics and patriotism. But the city lawyer warned it could set a precedent for some neighborhood Nazi's planting a swastika or some other offensive symbol on a city street if the flag symbol remained.

The flag issue created angst for the council and the mayor, who elected not to order City Administrator Phil McLemore to remove the painting but instead unanimously accepted the "recommendation" of council member Jim Dugan that the painting be removed by April 1. The politicians thus avoided actually ordering a direct attack on the Stars and Stripes.

Three residents were much more straightforward: Linda Hutchinson, whose Vietnam vet husband had helped organize the flag painting, asked the council to spare the image as a patriotic message to children; Don Ogden, an 81-year-old World War II vet who spent time in a POW camp, demanded the painting be removed because it denigrated the flag; and Rachel Renbarger, age 9, who admitted to wielding a paintbrush, just took responsibility.

Her voice was both humble and candid, and she pretty much stole the show in the small, packed City Hall.

"I am so sorry," said Rachel, her voice cracking and her eyes tearing up. "We will do whatever it takes to remove it — me and my sister. I am so sorry."

The mayor, the City Council, Hutchinson and Ogden all assured her she had done nothing wrong.
Ogden made it clear he never believed the neighborhood residents meant to defile the flag but had only made an error in flag etiquette, one that deeply angered him. He argued the federal rules prohibit a banner or even its image from being on the ground and at risk of being underfoot.

Don Ogden said the flag painting on a Duluth cul-de-sac was disrespectful.

'It is beautiful, but it doesn't belong

Hutchinson noted that even if it were a cloth banner, they should have the right to display it in the manner they
chose.
"As Americans, we have the right to treat the flag in any manner we see fit," she said "That is what freedom is all about." "The sooner it goes, the better," he said to the council and the public. "It is beautiful, but it doesn't belong on the ground."

The controversy has its roots in a neighborhood spat that quickly spread to the broader Duluth community and beyond. Several people complained to the city administration that it was either inappropriate to paint any graffiti on city property — patriotic or not — or disrespectful to paint the flag on the ground.
The city of 23,000 claims bragging rights as the most patriotic town in America and flies 600 flags on Memorial Day to show its respect, Lasseter said.

Officials at the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars national offices, however, objected to the flag being painted on the ground as degrading the image.

The flag became a controversy when two neighbors complained to the city administrator's office in December that the flag was still there.

Please tell me if I'm in the wrong here, folks.... my heart tells me I'm not, but is there some hard and fast rule about what could and should be the proper treatment of "flags" of this nature? I know I'm not a veteran, but I am a human. Is this an egregious error? What about flag tattoos? Flag bandanas? PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong!

I wonder if the ACLU will be beating down her door to defend HER First Amendment rights? Oh, yeah, that's right... they're too busy with NAMBLA, CAIR and the other folks who are offended by Christian terms and symbols that 90% of Americans want to display.

Please, I'm urging you to email or write the city of Duluth, GA, at least in an effort to try to stop this travesty before it's too late. I am STILL in disbelief that this is happening in the deep south!?!? I know Ogden is a vet, and there are specific ways in which you are supposed to treat the flag, but can't you find some softness in your heart for this patriotic girl who loves her country?

Mr. Belafonte, Your 15 Minutes of Fame Have LONG Been Up

Folks, we've seen it over and over in the past, where Hollyweird liberals think they are the know-all, be-all sources of intelligence when it comes to military and political matters. Unfortuantely we live in a world that is fascinated by everything that is commercial, entertainment, hype, and general B.S. that matters not one iota to the rest of the world who lives and practices both common sense and realism.

From the AP today, The American singer and activist Harry Belafonte called President Bush:

..."the greatest terrorist in the world" on Sunday and said millions of Americans support the socialist revolution of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez.

Belafonte led a delegation of Americans including the actor Danny Glover and the Princeton University scholar Cornel West that met the Venezuelan president for more than six hours late Saturday. Some in the group attended Chavez's television and radio broadcast Sunday.

"No matter what the greatest tyrant in the world, the greatest terrorist in the world, George W. Bush says, we're here to tell you: Not hundreds, not thousands, but millions of the American people ... support your revolution," Belafonte told Chavez during the broadcast.

We are back to chapter 1, verse 1 of Harry Belafonte's insane ramblings that our President is one of the world's worst terrorists. Belafonte's rantings are coming straight from Caracas, Venezuela, where he's meeting with the tyrannical despot Hugo Chavez, trying to bring some kind of camaraderie between the two. I don't know about the rest of you all, but I'm SICK TO DEATH of those who decry this very country, in which they enjoy the LEAST repressive government, yet are able to engage in self-sufficient capitalism, and "live large" off of their legacies and tinsel-town accolades (both popularity and financially). If they're so concerned about the poor and suffereing in 3rd world countries, why don't they choose to live as missionaries, give up all their worldly possessions in the United States of America, and go live in poverty alongside their brethren in these African nations in question? I don't expect any of you to be able to answer that question, as it's rhetorical in nature by simple common sense.

You can live in relative comfort, observe political life as it is wherever you are, and pontificate from your place on high - just so long as YOU don't get your hands dirty or have to live among the impoverished of the other nations, or even those of our nation. You can't even forego your bodyguards, limo drivers, private plane junkets, and lavish shopping sprees your occupation affords you.

As the old saying goes, "practice what you preach." It's obviously something the left elitists and egalitarians are not willing to do. After all, why would you settle for tap water, when you can get an unlimited supply of Evian bottled water by simply mentioning their name in a TV interview? Folks, this is nothing more than an orgy of self-importance, greed and gluttony. A trend I see spiraling downward and downward on that out-of-control lifestyle, wondering who will be the first to open their safety chutes (i.e., come to grips with reality) so they can land safely. For the others, there is an upcoming steep cliff as your glider comes in to land, but you're way too low to alight on the surface. You are too far gone and too far below of what it means to be "normal" anymore.

Bottom line should be YOUR bottom line, Hollywood! Yet you don't seem to realize or even accept the fact that most Hollywood movies are tanking because of the lack of content, blantant vulgarity, lack of family values, and the re-hashing of old TV shows or movies. America is collectively yawning, and it seems there is no amount of Hollywood caffeine that will awaken the American consumer (i.e., buying public) into investing in your typical garbage that's been spewing from Tinsel Town as of late.

Don't you find it odd that the only movies that are coming out on top are ones for the younger generations, or family-oriented fare? Guess not - but then again, you do have those rose-colored glasses on that prevent you from seeing the truth. All you can do is blame Americans for being "out of touch" with what is popular, when in fact, the majority of Americans have NO desire to see a "love story" between two cowboys, or a skewed vision that the PLO members who killed the Israeli olympiads were "freedom fighters" (shades of Mother Sheehan come to mind). Go ahead and nominate that movie for as many awards as you want. In fact, I will bet these movies WILL win many awards, but they won't be for content; they'll be awarded merely to spite the rest of the TRUE mainstream America who cares not one bit about this garbage that spews from the liberal movie studios.

As you've seen in the recent past, not only is movie attendance down for the Hollyweird elite pictures, but the audience has also severely diminished when it comes to Awards ceremonies. We just don't care anymore, and you don't even realize it. We know your game, we know what your message will be, and quite frankly, we are sick of the Bush-bashing that takes place on the podium at every Oscars show that I can remember in the recent past. This next one coming with Jon Stewart should prove very interesting. He, like Chris Rock did last year, will try to make it a show about himself. His firebrand sense of humor and indignation at the Bush Administration will most likely rear its ugly head. Know what I say about that? GOOD! Keep on going. The more you idiots on the left open your mouths, the more we can see the vacuous cavity that contains what is supposed to be your brain and a window to your soul (or lack thereof).

Hope the money from royalties keeps pouring in. You're all gonna need it, because the American public is going to KEEP staying away in DROVES from the theaters, as long as you continue to belch out the garbage you call "entertainment."

Iran's Ahmadinejad - Rewriting Holocaust History

Can things can any weirder with this whack-job? He is actually going to spend money, along with many of his other colleagues to discuss the Holocaust, which they deem as a myth. According to an article on ADNKI.com, Ahmadinejad is trying to rewrite history, holding hearings on what exactly is the truth about the Holocaust, and whether or not it ever existed (what is he smoking?).

According to the article:

"President Ahmadinejad has placed at the centre of international attention, a very important question on the truthfulness of the version that Europe and the Zionists have imposed on the world on the murder of Jews during the years of the great war, and therefore we are of the opinion that it is useful and necessary to organise an international conference on that theme, where all the historians and researchers, even those that do not believe in the official version, will be able to express themselves freely," Mehdi Afzali, spokesperson of the Association of Islamic Journalists told Adnkronos International (AKI).

"We want to offer a free and democratic platform to the historians to examine in-depth this myth, seeing that in different European countries there exist laws against democracy and freedom that to do not allow intellectuals who believe in a version distinct from that which is officially pronounced on the Holocaust," added Afzali.

"We will invite those who believe in the imposed version as well as all those who have spent years of their lives in the study of documents related to the Holocaust and have come to the conclusion that the history books in schools and universities do not correspond to the truth," said Afzali, who however refused to supply the names of the revisionist historians who have been contacted to appear in the conference in Tehran. Revisionists are those who deny that the Holocaust ever happened.

The thing that bothers me about this most is, we saw similar signs of lunacy in the tyrannical dictatorship of Saddam Hussein back in the 90s, and we let that boil fester, even after repeated attacks on Western targets. His mass graves display raw evidence of his brutality. Why are we just sitting back idly letting this madman run wild? Just as Saddam was given the time to hide, destroy, or evade discovery of his WMDs (which he had, by the way), the world body is also giving this weird-beard the opportunity to continue his uranium enrichment project, as well as further develop his nuclear arsenal.

Israel did it once to Iraq, taking out their nuclear site before Saddam had a chance to act. But that was ONE site. Iran has MULTIPLE sites, and a unilateral strike by Israel might not be enough. We need to be preparing for the battle that is to come, and political correctness needs to be thrown out with the dirty bath water, never to be seen again.

It is political correctness and the likes of the ACLU that will be this nation's undoing - unless and until good men rise and demand action as opposed to reaction.

New "WMD" Threats to Our Troops

In a Sunday Mirror U.K. exclusive today, it's revealed that Al Qaeda is recruiting members who have AIDS and other blood-borne diseases to take part in homicide bombings. These bombings would, according to the Mirror, cause more damage, as the blood of the bombers would be flung onto the coalition troops as they scramble to fight back. Even the most infinitesimal amount of these diseases can be deadly, and the desparate Zarqawi is using it to his advantage.

According to the article today:

AL-QAEDA is recruiting suicide bombers who are infected with the AIDS virus, according to documents revealed to the Sunday Mirror.

Terror chiefs are also targeting fanatics who suffer other lethal blood diseases such as hepatitis and dengue fever in order to increase their "kill rate" from an explosion. The chilling new threat is revealed in papers distributed to British military camps in Iraq and across Europe.

Under the heading "HIV/Hepatitis" the document states: "There is evidence that terrorists might be deliberately recruiting volunteers with diseases that are spread by blood transference."

Experts have found that bones and other blood-spattered fragments from a suicide bomber could penetrate the skin of a victim 50 metres away and infect them.

You gotta ask youself this: If they are down to recruiting AIDS-infected Al Qaeda followers and others to attack our troops, what does that say about their perceived success in fighting coalition troops? To me, this is a VERY strong sign they KNOW they are losing, and now they're resorting to the bottom of the barrel. The problem with using homicide bombers is that eventually, as with a magazine for a weapon, you will run out of ammunition. That also explains why they've been using women and children to train as homicide bombers - they're running out of young men to perpetuate this Islamofascist thuggery.

This may be a very desparate attempt by Al Qaeda to step up the fight with our troops; but desperate or not, this is a very dangerous situation for our men & women in uniform! Why don't the democraps get it? Zarqawi doesn't care of you're Republican or Democrat - he and his henchmen just want to KILL you (and me)! So, shut up already, and get on board with this global war on terrorism! Whether you on the left like it or not, you're next if they hit us here at home.

Congressman Murtha Gets Called Out

I have been WAITING for this moment since Rep. Schmidt related her message from a Marine to the Congress as they were convened, that 'cowards cut and run, but Marines never do.' Anybody and everybody thought it to be taboo to speak ill of Congressman Murtha, because he was a decorated Marine veteran of many wars, but all of us knew it was nothing more than a smear campaign spearheaded by Nancy Pelo si et. al.

Just because you have medals, are a veteran, and served in wars, does NOT mean you're above reproach! Somehow the left seems to believe you can't be criticized, but yet they enjoyed the spotlight of the Dan Rather CBS memo-gate controversy about Bush's alleged military record during Viet Nam.

Michelle Malkin got it today, from a C-SPAN telecast townhall meeting with Reps. Murtha & Moran in Arlington, VA. Sgt. Seavey got his say before the panel, and it is PRICELESS folks! This is one for the records! Hooah for this Sgt.! I challenge ANYBODY to say HE has no right to criticize a fellow Veteran for his questions/statements at this townhall meeting.

Breaking developement: Sgt. Seavey is not the ONLY one to call Murtha & Moran on the carpet! Here is Viet Nam veteran, General Wagner, who also had a few choice words for Murtha and Moran (courtesy of Michelle Malkin, also).

After watching the video of Gen. Wagner, I'm standing up cheering his words! As Neal Boortz would tell it... "Somebody's GOTTA say it!" And Sgt. Steavey & Gen. Wagner did so eloquently. Isn't it fun to watch the "cut-and-run" wimps from the left squirm? I LOVE it!

He Deserves To Be Impeached

Calm down, calm down, you leftie libs out there. Don't get your thongs in a bunch... No, I'm not talking about your favorite target, George W. Bush - I'm talking about Judge Edward Cashman in Vermont.

Apparently Judge Cashman cares not about the letter of the law; he supposedly has found a distorted way to proclaim he's found some kind of delusional conversion to morality. By what means you might ask? He no longer believes in punishment - only in rehabilitation.

Judge Cashman was the presiding judge over the trial of Mark Hulett, 34, of Williston, VT. Hulett is an admitted child sex offender, whose victim was 7 years old when he first starting raping her, and did so repeatedly over and over for the next 4 years.

Cashman feels if Hulett is "subjected" to an extended stay at the Gray Bar Motel, he might miss his opportunity at redemption, salvation, and rehabilitation from his deranged perversion of having sex with children. "The one message I want to get through is that anger doesn't solve anything. It just corrodes your soul," Cashman told a packed Burlington courtroom made up mostly of people related to the victim.

So, in his infinite *cough, cough* wisdom, he sentences Hulett to a horrid SIXTY DAYS IN JAIL! Thereby, after the 60 days, Hulett will be allowed to get out and go to the rehabilitation he deserves, in Cashman's mind (never mind the research and studies that show he is likely to commit this crime again).

How many more Jessica Lunsfords, Polly Klaases, Dylan and Shasta Groenes do we have to have to sacrifice before we wake up? We know we can search and find out who and where they are, but that is conditional on the fact that they register when and where they're supposed to. Do we really want to leave this all up to the honor system of pedophiles? Hell, no! But Judge Cashman is obviously willing to take that chance.

Folks, can you even dig into the deepest, darkest reaches of your psyche and see the demented soul that would seek out a 7-year-old girl and have sex with her? Not only that, but continue to do so until she is more than 10 years old? This, my friend, is a sick, twisted pervert, and should never see the light of day.

Forensic psychologists will tell you there are two types of personalities that you CANNOT change; an asocial sociopath (Jeffrey Dahmer, et al), and a pedophile. It is just something they are; there is no hope for either of them. These are not lifestyles, life choices, or phases - it is just who these people are. No amount of psychological intervention will stop their behavior. Some even think that castrating the bastards will stop it, yet that is unfortunately not true (although it's a pleasant thought to have). For these degenerates, the mind is the most powerful sex object. If they don't have a functioning organ, it doesn't matter. They can still molest, in their minds, and use other things to violate their victims. The pleasure they derive is in the receptors in their brains. They are all about victimization, and even if they can't "achieve" physical "success," they can achieve it by other means.

Although I'm not a clinical psychologist, I unfortunately have some first-hand experience about this crime. In my opinion, the only thing that would/could curb these demons' urges is effeminization - the injection of female hormones to inhibit the testosterone that drives the male urge for dominance and control.

Want to send me the hate male for man-bashing? Go ahead... make my day. I've got a 2-hour story to tell you. And it ain't pretty. Hey...at least I'm alive. The degenerate I put in prison is doing 55 years, but I was sentenced to life; a lifetime of memories of what happened that night.

I was in my 20s and mostly able to cope with what happened to me. But a 7-year-old girl??? All I want is five minutes with this jackass in a room, and THIS time I'M the one with the weapon!

Can you believe that now while trying to help re-build the city of New Orleans and other cities in Louisiana, that Gov. Kathleen Blanco is indulging in such blantant and obvious excesses? While she decries the lack of Federal help for her state, she does indulge herself and her staffers with that very money she's crying about not getting enough of! Kathleen Blanco decided to renovate some of her staff's offices. At the time of her decision, Blanco also was hinting at deep budget cuts to state programs and the possibility of laying off 20 percent of the state workforce.
The project cost $564,838. The newly refurbished office space on the sixth floor of the State Capitol includes hookups and mounts for two flat screen televisions, Swedish granite countertops, walnut paneling and frosted laminated glass.
The floor, which will not be accessible to the public, was redesigned to add three new offices, a conference room and file storage areas. About 20 members of the governor's staff – who focus on constituent services, children's issues, women's policies and other functions – will work on the newly restored floor.
Concerned about the perception of fixing up their office space while slashing others' spending, Jimmy Clarke, Blanco's chief of staff, said Friday the governor's top aides considered not fixing the 6th floor.
But the sixth floor project was bid six days before Hurricane Katrina came ashore near Buras on Aug. 29. Clarke said he became concerned that the state could be sued successfully if the restoration project were shut down.
"We certainly would not have initiated this work post-Katrina and Rita," Clarke said. "Given all that the state faces at this time, these renovations would be a very low priority."
The floor had not been improved since the early 1980s and the space needed to be upgraded to meet safety codes, Clarke said.
Restoration work began on the sixth floor Oct. 10, two weeks after Hurricane Rita struck Cameron on Sept. 24.
The week before work began, Blanco ordered a spending and hiring freeze to rein in state government expenses. Three days after crews started tearing out the old offices, the administration announced that the state's budget would be about $1 billion short because of damages caused by hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
That day, Commissioner of Administration Jerry Luke LeBlanc told a legislative finance committee that the budgets supplying money for public health care and education would need cuts of 20 percent or more and that more that 18,000 state employees would have to be laid off.
All three floors that the governor and her staff occupy saw some upgrades, said William Wilson, director of the Office of State Buildings.
A bathroom was added to the fifth floor and new carpet was added to all three floors, he said. But the sixth floor saw the most work, costing almost $300,000 alone, he said.

"Swedish granite countertops, walnut paneling and frosted laminated glass." What??? Folks, this is the epitome of hypocricy if I've ever seen it. Why do the people of Louisiana keep electing "leaders" like these? It's very clear to me that she obviously doesn't truly care about the people of Louisiana - or else, this more than half a million dollars would be going to reconstrution! UnBELIEVABLE!

Good News from Abu Ghraib - A New Life

I first read about this story in my local Atlanta newspaper, the Al-Atlanta Journal Constitution. This was quite a surprise to me, since the paper generally leans way left of any issues. The original article posted on Dec. 30, 2005 was the original I read, and to my surprise, they've continued writing about this "good news" story from Iraq. The AJC has been typically anti-war and very liberal, so it was a nice surprise to read this.

Baghdad, Iraq -- The first time Georgia soldiers entered her house, Soad was scared. Americans had detained her eldest son for questioning once. She didn't like gun-toting men in camouflage uniforms poking around the family home in Abu Ghraib.
But out of that frightening moment came a gift of joy.
Gainesville-based soldiers of the Georgia Army National Guard's 48th Brigade Combat Team promised to help give new life to Soad's granddaughter Noor al-Zahra, born three months ago with a severe spinal cord defect that was untreatable in Iraq."I am so thankful for everything," Soad said. "We will call the baby Noor al-Zahra Georgia.""Georgia! Georgia!" she told her daughters when she called home from Baghdad's Camp Liberty on Thursday. "We want to name her that because the people of Georgia are helping us," Soad said. "It will be a nice name for her."
Just hours before an anticipated departure from Iraq, Soad sat in an Army trailer sorting out a host of emotions racing through her heart.She had never left her family behind or flown on a plane before; the only times she had left Iraq was by car to neighboring Syria and Iran.
Now she was about to travel halfway around the world with a sick child in her arms. She had surrendered her granddaughter's future to people she didn't know in a foreign and faraway land.
"I am amazed bythe generosity of the Americans," Soad said through an interpreter. "They came to my house so many times. They paid for everything."Soad, 45, said she never dreamed that one day she would see the United States. She was excited, even though her trip was under such stressful circumstances. She knew that even with the best medical care, there were no guarantees for Noor.
Military doctors who have examined Noor said she would probably be left with paralysis in both legs. No one knows with certainty whether potential fluid buildup has caused any significant brain damage.
Soad knew, too, that she was putting her family at risk by accepting American help -- insurgents often target Iraqi citizens who are seen as cooperating with U.S. soldiers.But she said she had to take the chance
and accept the soldiers' offer to fly Noor to Atlanta. She could not live with herself knowing that she had not done everything she could to give her granddaughter the possibility of a productive life.
The full names of Noor's family members have been withheld because of security reasons. Soad said she told friends and family that she was going to Georgia, not to America."It can be dangerous for us to be associated with America," she said, fixing the tan, crocheted scarf around her head.
Noor, nicknamed "Baby Nora" by the soldiers, was born with spina bifida. Her spinal cord had not fully closed during her mother, Iman's, pregnancy, leaving a tumorlike growth on her tiny back.Iraqi doctors
told the family that they lacked the facilities to treat the baby and that she would not survive long.
Soldiers of the 1st Battalion, 121st Infantry Regiment's Charlie Company discovered the little girl during a search of the family's house. They were determined to save her. Noor's father, Haider, 23, cradled the frail baby in his arms, thankful that the medical treatment she desperately needed was finally within reach. He'd spent a good chunk of the afternoon getting Noor's name added to his passport.
He poured hot tea for his mother and the interpreter and occasionally stuck his head out the door to smoke a cigarette. He said he had seen America in magazines and movies. He, like his mother, was incredulous that he would soon be there himself.
Capt. Anthony Fournier, 38, commander of Charlie Company, was optimistic that, after weeks of negotiations and efforts to expedite travel arrangements, Noor and her guardians would arrive in Atlanta on Saturday afternoon.
Late Thursday night, Fournier, a schoolteacher from Augusta, drove to central Baghdad's heavily fortified International Zone and collected the visas that would enable the family to enter the United States.
Soad, Haider and the baby are expected to leave Baghdad today for Kuwait, from where they will board a commercial jet that will fly them to Atlanta.
Childspring International, an Atlanta-based charity that matches sick children from the developing world with U.S. hospitals, has made arrangements for Noor and her family to stay with an Arabic-speaking host family. Children's Healthcare has offered to perform surgery to correct Noor's spinal cord at no cost.
The traditional Muslim family decided Noor's mother, who is only 18, was too young and should not be traveling out of the country. "Iman has been crying a lot," Soad said about her daughter-in-law. "She misses her baby but is happy that she is getting help. She is very young. She doesn't leave the home."
Soad fired off a dozen questions about Georgia. "Where will we stay in America?" she asked. "How will I let my family know we are safe? How tall are the buildings there? What is the weather like?"
She worried about leaving behind the small shop she runs with her sons at Abu Ghraib market. She worried, too, about one of her daughters, Niran, 24, who is eight months pregnant."I didn't have time to make any preparations for her," Soad said.
Charlie Company soldiers traveled to Soad's house Tuesday night to fetch her, Haider and Noor. The family was given minutes to pack their belongings for the long journey ahead. Since then, the three have been housed in a trailer behind Charlie Company's headquarters at Camp
Liberty.
Soldiers have been stopping by to make sure the family has everything it needs.Thursday evening, Staff Sgt. David Squires wished the family a safe trip. "I hated that it took so long to get administrative and logistical things taken care of," said Squires, 47, who works for a hearing aid company in Gainesville.
"We're all hoping for the best possible outcome for this baby. It's our little project here. It's our mark on this country."
Soad sipped her tea and tried to placate her sobbing granddaughter. She held up a small stuffed animal, tickling Noor's cheeks."Georgia," she said. "Look here, Georgia."The baby stopped crying. She looked into her grandmother's eyes -- and smiled.

The Honor Was All Mine, Jay

This actually surprised me. I had no idea that what started out as an outlet for passionate political and social ideas would turn into something like this. I found the more and more I blogged, the more passionate I became. I only started in September of 2005, and right now I'm currently in talks with Real Teen & Kender about an Online Conservative Radio Station, "WAR - Wide Awakes Radio"

I'm not just saying this because he nominated me as one of the best "Best New Blogs of 2005," but Jay at Stop the ACLU is really to be credited for getting me so passionate and active in blogging. So, Jay, my hat is off to you! The first person, however, to influence me and really make me want to start blogging was Ian at PoliticalTeen. His aggressive and up-to-the-minute video blogging is really trail-blazing, and I'm sure there will be others to follow - but none like him. (And to think a teenager could have such influence over a 40-something woman? NO, NOT THAT KIND! HA!)

I've made some VERY good friends (in addition to those listed above) over this time period, including but not limited to Gribbit (who is the creative brains behind building my blog), RealTeen, Lori Byrd at PoliPundit, and just recently Amy Proctor and Scott Fuller. I'm looking forward to a cooperative working relationship with ALL of you, as we've really got our work cut out for us in '06, and more importantly '08. We MUST stop the Hildabeast!

Ollie's New Year's Resolutions & Admonitions

In the true Marine spirit, "Semper Fidelis," Ollie is always faithful, and nobody can compare when it comes to what I call "meritorious spirit." Few others have ever exhibited the true meaning of that oath, and nobody else in the news world can even come close when it comes to recognizing our servicemen & women overseas. I have seldom seen Lt. Col. Oliver North on TV when he was not purposefully introducing one of our military members, highlighting their contributions in our war against terrorism. And no camera will leave him until the military man or woman has had a moment to say hello to their loved ones back here safe at home, because of the things they are accomplishing for the common goal of freedom for all mankind.

This year, Ollie has a resolution of his own, but not before he has some very observant suggestions for others. From Lt. Col. Oliver North's Townhall column yesterday:

New Year's Resolutions

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- As the sun sets on 2005, there are a number of people and events worthy of mention and remembrance -- some good, some not so good. It is also that time of year when we must make our resolutions for the coming year. And since I'm in the business of giving unsolicited advice, herewith are a few suggestions to those who may or may not need them.
First, congratulations must be offered to the Iraqi people along with a respectful suggestion that they resolve to stay strong and continue the astounding progress they are making in transforming their country from a brutal dictatorship to a working democracy. In the course of 12 months in 2005, Iraqis braved terrorist threats and persistent pessimism from the press to go to the polls and show that democratic government is a viable alternative to the violence we have witnessed in that part of the world for too long.
All year, the determination of the Iraqis and the brilliance of our troops were denounced by the likes of Howard Dean -- the leader of the Democrat Party -- who should resolve to become more optimistic about America and our troops. Just a week before the Iraqis held their most recent, historic, peaceful elections, Dean was speaking to WOIA Radio in San Antonio, Texas, and predicted that America would lose the war in Iraq. "The idea that we're going to win the war in Iraq," Dean explained, "is an idea which is just plain wrong."
And speaking of being "just plain wrong," there are two prominent liberals who, in 2006, should resolve to take refresher courses in American history so they don't continue to impugn the character of our service members and our country.
After correspondent Andrea Mitchell reported that Iran's new president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad may have been one of the terrorists who held Americans hostage at the U.S. embassy in Tehran in 1979, NBC News anchor Brian Williams responded, "Andrea, what would it all matter if proven true? Someone brought up today the first several U.S. Presidents were certainly revolutionaries and might have been called terrorists at the time by the British Crown, after all."

As bad as that remark was, it was topped by Senator Dick Durbin, who accused U.S. troops serving at Guantanamo Bay of war crimes, saying their treatment of terrorist prisoners resembled that "done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags or some mad regime -- Pol Pot, or others." In addition to the remedial history lessons, Durbin should resolve to make the sincere apology he never made.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is another liberal Democrat who should resolve to think before he speaks. Within hours of Hurricane Katrina's devastation, while hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens in New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast were mourning dead family members, Kennedy blamed it all on Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour. "Now we are all learning what it's like to reap the whirlwind of fossil fuel dependence which Barbour and his cronies have encouraged," Kennedy suggested.
Of course, liberals can't accept the fact that the Big Government bureaucracy that they worship let them down during Hurricane Katrina.
Which brings us to rapper Kanye West, who should resolve to stick to the script. He failed to do so during a televised charity fundraiser for Katrina victims and instead accused the president of racism, saying, President Bush "doesn't care about black people."
Of course the president grieved the loss of life caused by Katrina.
And 2005 also saw its share of celebrity deaths -- including TV host Johnny Carson, lawyer Johnnie Cochran, Supreme Court Justice William Rehnquist, and Sen. Eugene McCarthy. But no passing was mourned more than that of Poland's Karol Wojtyla, better known as Pope John Paul II. Laid to rest on April 8 in a crypt below Saint Peter's Square in Vatican City, the pontiff's funeral was seen by more than one billion Catholics around the world and attended by kings, presidents, prime ministers, Catholics, Jews, Muslims and Protestants.
Corporate executives and craven politicians should resolve to ignore anti-Christian activists who want to expunge religion from the public square and American culture.
Along those lines, Hollywood producers should resolve to make more movies like Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ," and "The Chronicles of Narnia," -- which appeal to middle America -- and make fewer cinematic screeds about twinkle-toed cowboys with lavender lassos.
Left-wing filmmaker Michael Moore should resolve to make a documentary on liberal hypocrisy -- and he can start with himself. After making his name by bashing corporate America, it was revealed by Peter Schweizer's new book "Do As I Say, (Not as I Do)," that Moore owns thousands of shares of stock in Halliburton -- the company that liberals love to hate, especially Moore, who lambasted the company in his movie "Fahrenheit 9/11."
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld should resolve to do what he always has done -- ignore his critics. Every few months, the enlightened" Washington press corps writes Rumsfeld's political obituary only to have to update it months later with the accomplishments he's achieved in the interim.
President Bush should resolve to fight in 2006 like he fought the last month of 2005 -- with courage and conviction. After months of letting his critics get the better of him, he decided to engage them, and in some cases, go over their heads directly to the people. Surprise, surprise -- his poll numbers improved.
The soldiers, sailors, airmen, Guardsmen and Marines of the U.S. military should resolve to keep doing exactly what they are doing -- defending American citizens and doing so with pride and honor. And the public should resolve to do even more to support those who are sacrificing so much for our country.
As for me, I resolve to be less opinionated in the New Year -- a resolution I vow to keep at least until my next column.

BREAKING NEWS! on Fox & Reuters, the Justice Dept. is opening an investigation into the leakage of top-secret classified information about the NSA! From Reuters:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Justice Department has launched an investigation to determine who disclosed a secret NSA eavesdropping operation approved by President George W. Bush after the September 11 attacks, officials said on Friday. "We are opening an investigation into the unauthorized disclosure of classified materials related to the NSA," one official said.

Earlier this month Bush acknowledged the program and called its disclosure to The New York Times "a shameful act." He said he presumed a Justice Department leak investigation into who disclosed the National Security Agency eavesdropping operation would get under way.
Justice Department officials would give no details of who requested the probe or how it would be conducted.
The disclosure of the covert domestic spying program has triggered concerns among both Democrats and Republicans, with many lawmakers questioning whether it violates the U.S. Constitution.
Several lawmakers have backed a planned hearing on the issue by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, a Republican from Pennsylvania. Bush and senior administration officials have argued that the policy of authorizing -- without court orders -- eavesdropping on international phone calls and e-mails by Americans suspected of links to terrorism was legal and necessary to help defend the country after the September 11 attacks. The White house has sought to play down the impact on civil liberties, saying the program was narrow in scope and that key congressional leaders were briefed about it.

Justice... the Kuwaiti Way!

According to the USA Today and AP on Dec. 27th, 6 terror suspects are sentenced to DEATH for plotting an attack on U.S. troops! YAY!

The story reveals:

6 sentenced to death in Kuwait for planned attack on troops

KUWAIT CITY (AP) — Six men were convicted and sentenced to death Tuesday on charges they belonged to a terrorist group that planned to attack U.S. troops in Kuwait. The men — three Kuwaitis and three stateless Arabs who live in Kuwait — were among 37 Kuwaitis and other nationals accused of joining the Lions of the Peninsula, a group the prosecution claims was planning the attacks.

Kuwaiti authorities broke up the cell in clashes in January that left eight suspected terrorists and four policemen dead. Weapons, bombs and chemicals that could be used for making explosives were found in the suspects' possession.
Twenty-three alleged members of the cell are already serving prison terms ranging from four months to 15 years. Seven were acquitted while another was given a life sentence. The defense argued the six were planning to go to Iraq and asked for leniency from the court. "I believe those young men have been deceived, and the way to deal with it is not tough sentences," their lawyer, Khaled al-Abdul-Jalil, told the three-judge panel last month.
Kuwait was a launch pad for the 2003 U.S.-led invasion of Iraq and remains a logistics base for the international coalition, which is fighting an Iraqi insurgency that includes Islamic militants from other Arab nations. Scores of Kuwaiti Islamic fundamentalists have fought in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Bosnia and Iraq.

I feel somewhat cheated.. I want THIS kind of justice in the U.S.! No more 20+ years on the public dole with 3 hots and a cot like Tookie....INSTANT justice meted out! Hip-hip-HOORAY for the Kuwaitis! At least THEY are loyal to the U.S.; which can't be said for the MSM of the U.S., whose freedoms are only granted by those they love to slam on a daily basis.

My Letter to the New York Times

Gang, I couldn't take it any longer... I had to write the New York "Slimes" tonight. I encourage you to do the same. The email addresses are below, for those who don't have them.

Dear Sirs:

I know you probably won't even read this email, but it doesn't matter. These statements, observations, and questions need to be made/asked.

Back when the non-story of Valerie "not a covert-agent" Plame came out, your newspaper dogged the White House and the Bush Administration, DEMANDING to know the source of the "alleged" leak of Valerie Plame's name. It was, in fact, her own husband who outed her (if she was outed at all) in his own book! Not to mention, I don't think a true "covert" agent would be appearing in Vanity Fair on a regular basis in the society page photos with her husband.

Your paper has run story after story on this Plame-gate issue, yet when TRUE issues of SEVERE Top-Secret National Security are breached by your paper, I have to say I find it quite disingenous that nobody at your publication has similarly "demanded" an investigation into these leaks!?!? When is somebody in your organization going to do that? Demand the source of the leaks? Or tell us who is leaking this TRULY classified information?

First it was the secret prisons in Europe, now the NSA wire-tapping issue. These are two issues that do nothing but give the terrorists a "heads up" about what the Bush Administration and our military men & women are doing to try and protect this country, and more importantly, your rights to publish whatever garbage you want. You are endangering the very lives of our military, yet all you do is write about how many are being killed.

What parallel universe do you people work in that you don't you see your circulation has gone down significantly in the past, along with the rest of the mainstream media outlets out in the United States? Have you not yet figured out why? Running a business, it should be all about the bottom line, and I thought you all would have gotten it by now.
But your desire to bring down the Bush Administration sadly outweighs your desire to be a success in the world of Journalism. Your stance on issues of the day, especially our National Security, will cause your paper's demise, and it will have been at your own doing. Do you think it's some kind of chicanery that Fox News is the new front-runner in the television media? The country is sick of the obvious liberal media bias that is the "norm" these days, and you all don't fool anybody anymore (well, a select few leftist myrmidons, maybe).

Sadly, it may also give the terrorists (read = OUR enemy) enough information to adjust their strategy, and will partly weaken the resolve of the American people to stand behind our troops and this President, to have patience in this war. Yes, we are at war regardless
of what your news & editorial pages proclaim.

I also find it highly suspicious that the editors of the New York Times sat on the article about the NSA and wire-tapping until right before the Senate was to vote on the Patriot Act. Seems much like the National Guard fake memos aired by CBS & Dan Rather just prior to the '04 elections. Timing is everything, isn't it? Your hatred for this President and his Administration is transparent and quite obvious.

I can promise you one thing, sirs; if our nation is attacked again, and the American people find out your stories revealing TRUE National Security secrets had anything to do with it, you will most certainly rue the day you felt ice in your veins for this President, his Administration, and this great country that is the United States of America. And if any of my family, friends, or loved ones are hurt in these attacks, I will be MOST delighted to start a Class Action lawsuit against your "news" organization!

Passing your email addresses to all of my friends, I'm also going to ask them to email you and voice their opinions.

I end this contentious email with one question; when, sirs, will you demand a Federal Investigation into the leaks your paper has published, and spend as much time hounding the Federal Government for this investigation as you did the Valerie Plame non-affair?

The Terrible Truth About "Choice"

According to Breitbart.com today, Spain says that abortions have risen 72% in the past ten years. Folks, these numbers are actually mind-boggling to me. The story reveals:

The number of abortions carried out in Spain has risen by almost three quarters in the past decade but the figure remains low by European standards, the country's health ministry said. In 2004 the total reached 84,985, up by 6.5 percent on 2003 (79,788) et 72 percent on 1995 (49,367), it reported.

For women aged between 15 and 44 the rate per thousand was 8.94 in 2004 compared with 8.77 in 2003.

But Health Minister Elena Salgado, taking the 2002 figure, said that Spain's figure was lower than that of Germany (15.35 percent), Finland (16.41 percent), France (18.34 percent), Denmark (18.9 percent), Italy (20.46 percent), Britain (22.82 percent) and Sweden (25.63 percent).
The great majority (86.7 percent) of abortions were carried out in private clinics, while 9.7 percent were carried out in private hospitals and 3.6 percent in public hospitals. The intervention in the first weeks of pregnancy costs between 300 and 400 euros in a private clinic.
Abortion was decriminalised in Spain in 1985 for certain cases: after rape, in the case of malformation of the foetus and if the pregnancy represents a threat to the physical or mental health of the woman.

The report said 95.7 percent of abortions were carried out for the last reason.

Huh?

I was stunned by these numbers until I did some reasearch myself. On the About.com website, I found more mind-numbing statistics about abortions in the United States! These stats are compared to world numbers. I've posted before about one American abortionist (warning - this post contains very graphic images), but these statistics are just... well... dang... You decide:

Religion - 43% of women getting an abortion claimed they were Protestant, while 27% claimed they were Catholic.

Spying on Muslims? Say it Ain't So!!!

To my shock, dismay, horror, and sheer, absolute delight; today the U.S. News & World Report has a story about the U.S. monitoring Muslims without search warrants! OH, THE HUMANITY!

Well, since the left-wing U.S. "Spews" & World "Retort" won't report it honestly, I'm going to interject where needed (in red):

In search of a terrorist nuclear bomb, the federal government since 9/11 has run a far-reaching, (by whose standards?) top secret program (Pssst.. if it's "top secret, why are you reporting it? You're violating Federal Law yourselves, just like the NYTs!) to monitor radiation levels at over a hundred Muslim sites in the Washington, D.C., area, including mosques, homes, businesses, and warehouses, plus similar sites in at least five other cities, (HIP, HIP, HOORAY! What is bad about that?) U.S. News has learned. In numerous cases, the monitoring required investigators to go on to the property under surveillance, although no search warrants or court orders were ever obtained, (and your point is?????...) according to those with knowledge of the program. (If they're so proud of their revelation, why are they not saying who they are?)
Some participants were threatened with loss of their jobs when they questioned the legality of the operation, according to these accounts. (Again..."according to these accounts." Who are these people?)

Federal officials familiar with the program maintain that warrants are unneeded (I think you mean "unnecessary... sheez! as a professional journalist, you should know this) for the kind of radiation sampling the operation entails, but some legal scholars disagree. (The last I checked, no 'legal scholars' I've ever heard of have served in Iraq; they just continue to pollute the collegiate world with their liberal appeasement views) News of the program comes in the wake of revelations last week that, after 9/11, the Bush White House approved electronic surveillance of U.S. targets by the National Security Agency without court orders. (Since when did foreign electronic surveillance operations fall under our U.S. Constitution?) These and other developments suggest that the federal government's domestic spying programs since 9/11 have been far broader than previously thought. (Again, your point is????? We haven't been attacked again since 9/11.)

The nuclear surveillance program began in early 2002 and has been run by the FBI and the Department of Energy's Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST). Two individuals, who declined to be named because the program is highly classified (and so they should be fired and imprisoned, because they violated Federal law), spoke to U.S. News because of their concerns about the legality of the program. At its peak, they say, the effort involved three vehicles in Washington, D.C., monitoring 120 sites per day, nearly all of them Muslim targets drawn up by the FBI. (Wooooo!!! I'm scared! Last time I checked, no little old white ladies, no young white or black males, no Chinese, etc., people have flown planes into buildings, or otherwise plotted against the United States, save the one idiot, Tim McVeigh.)
For some ten months, officials conducted daily monitoring (YAY!), and they have resumed daily checks during periods of high threat. The program has also operated in at least five other cities when threat levels there have risen: Chicago, Detroit, Las Vegas, New York, and Seattle.
FBI officials expressed concern that discussion of the program would expose sensitive methods used in counterterrorism. (As they SHOULD!) Although NEST staffers have demonstrated their techniques on national television as recently as October, U.S. News has omitted details of how the monitoring is conducted (Good! That's one more thing the public does NOT need to know!). Officials from four different agencies declined to respond on the record about the classified (duh!) program: the FBI, Energy Department, Justice Department, and National Security Council. "We don't ever comment on deployments," (and you SHOULDN'T, Bryan!) said Bryan Wilkes, a spokesman for DOE's National Nuclear Security Administration, which manages NEST.
In Washington, the sites monitored have included prominent mosques and office buildings in suburban Maryland and Virginia. One source close to the program said that participants "were tasked on a daily and nightly basis," and that FBI and Energy Department officials held regular meetings to update the monitoring list. "The targets were almost all U.S. citizens," (and??? If they're not communicating with Muslim extremists or Usama's and Zarqawi's henchmen, they need not be concerned!) says the source. "A lot of us thought it was questionable, but people who complained nearly lost their jobs. We were told it was perfectly legal." (What is your problem, people? Does the name John Walker Lindh ring a bell? He was an American, yet he plotted to attack the U.S.!)
The question of search warrants is controversial, however (only if the ACLU is on your side and your an Islamofascist). To ensure accurate readings, in up to 15 percent (wow! a whole 15%?) of the cases the monitoring needed to take place on private property, sources say, such as on mosque parking lots and private driveways (you mean where newspaper boys can go?). Government officials familiar with the program insist it is legal; warrants are unneeded for monitoring from public property, they say, as well as from publicly accessible driveways and parking lots. "If a delivery man can access it, so can we," says one. (amen)
Georgetown University Professor David Cole, a constitutional law expert, disagrees (oh, and this surprises anyone?). Surveillance of public spaces such as mosques or public businesses might well be allowable without a court order, he argues, but not private offices or homes: "They don't need a warrant to drive onto the property -- the issue isn't where they are, but whether they're using a tactic to intrude on privacy. It seems to me that they are, and that they would need a warrant or probable cause." (The "probable cause" was 3,000 people being murdered on 9/11/01, you idiot.)
Cole points to a 2001 Supreme Court decision, U.S. vs. Kyllo, which looked at police use -- without a search warrant -- of thermal imaging technology to search for marijuana-growing lamps in a home. The court, in a ruling written by Justice Antonin Scalia, ruled that authorities did in fact need a warrant -- that the heat sensors violated the Fourth Amendment's clause against unreasonable search and seizure. But officials familiar with the FBI/NEST program say the radiation sensors are different and are only sampling the surrounding air. (This is something we need to know - a marijuana lamp in a house is VERY different than nuclear material in the AIR!) "This kind of program only detects particles in the air, it's non directional," says one knowledgeable official. "It's not a whole lot different from smelling marijuana."
Officials also reject any notion that the program specifically has targeted Muslims. (Why not? We NEED to target Muslims! Who the hell else has been killing people by the thousands?) "We categorically do not target places of worship or entities solely based on ethnicity or religious affiliation," says one. "Our investigations are intelligence driven and based on a criminal predicate." (i.e., Radical Muslims...and rightly so!)
Among those said to be briefed on the monitoring program were Vice President Richard Cheney; Michael Brown, then-director of the Federal Emergency Management Administration; and Richard Clarke, then a top counterterrorism official at the National Security Council. After 9/11, top officials grew increasingly concerned over the prospect of nuclear terrorism. (As well they should have! Would you expect less? Well, maybe under the Clinton administration I can see that...You know, too busy with the blue dress and all.... )
Just weeks after the World Trade Center attacks, a dubious (by whose standards?) informant named Dragonfire warned that al Qaeda had smuggled a nuclear device into New York City; NEST teams swept the city and found nothing. But as evidence seized from Afghan camps confirmed al Qaeda's interest in nuclear technology, radiation detectors were temporarily installed along Washington, D.C., highways and the Muslim monitoring program began. (AGAIN... SO WHAT?)
Most staff for the monitoring came from NEST, which draws from nearly 1,000 nuclear scientists and technicians based largely at the country's national laboratories. For 30 years, NEST undercover teams have combed suspected sites looking for radioactive material, using high-tech detection gear fitted onto various aircraft, vehicles, and even backpacks and attaché cases. No dirty bombs or nuclear devices have ever been found - and that includes the post-9/11 program. "There were a lot of false positives, and one or two were alarming," says one source. "But in the end we found nothing." (Thanks to the prevailing wisdom of President Bush and his adamant will, initiative, and need to protect this country!)

Celebrity - Thy Name is Cowardice

So, who really gives a rat's ass that celebs are afraid to visit our troops; either by fear of harm, or fear of the impression that they support the war? As John Stossel says, "Gimme a Break!"

According to Drudge today, many "celebs" (read = mostly cowards) are refusing to go tour with the USO. This from a story in the Guardian U.K. front page:

"It is a far cry from the days following the September 11 2001 attacks, when some of the biggest names in show business, from Jennifer Lopez to Brad Pitt, rallied to the cause. "After 9/11 we couldn't have had enough airplanes for the people who were volunteering to go," Wayne Newton, the Las Vegas crooner who succeeded.

Bob Hope as head of USO's talent recruiting effort, told USA Today. "Now with 9/11 being as far removed as it is, the war being up one day and down the next, it becomes increasingly difficult to get people to do."
Newton said many celebrities have been wary of going because they think it might be seen that they are endorsing the war. "And I say it's not. I tell them these men and women are over there because our country sent them, and we have the absolute necessity to try to bring them as much happiness as we can."
Fear is also a factor.
"They're scared," country singer Craig Morton, who is in Iraq on the USO's Hope and Freedom Tour 2005, told USA Today. "It's understandable. It's not a safe and fun place and a lot of people don't want to take the chance."
The USO was founded in 1941 as a way of boosting morale for the military. For most of that time Bob Hope, who made his first appearance in 1942 and his last in 1990, was its most recognisable face, famed for putting on Christmas extravaganzas on aircraft carriers and American bases during the Vietnam war. Thousands of performers signed up to play the "foxhole circuit" during the second world war, but the USO has a much smaller list.

Some of the entertainers still willing to travel are die-hard true believers - rock musician Ted Nugent carried a Glock handgun to shows in Iraq last year and said in a radio interview that he manned a machine gun on a Humvee.
But many of the USO's regular performers are fierce critics of the war, among them the comic and star of Good Morning Vietnam, Robin
Williams, who told USA Today he would like to return to the Middle East in the spring for what would be his fourth tour since 2002.
"I'm there for the [troops], not for W," he said in a reference to the president. "Go, man. You won't forget it. You'll meet amazing people," is his message to stars that ask him about the tours.
But the comedian said he mostly tries to keep politics out of the show after he did a few jokes about Bush's brainpower at a base in 2003 and got a chilly reception.
Other critics of the war who regularly perform include the leftwing comedian Al Franken (who is headlining the current tour along with Christian hip-hop group Souljahz) and the punk legend and actor Henry Rollins, one of the Bush administrations most vocal critics.

The tradition of beautiful women thrilling the troops has continued - although while Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell showed up in Korea and Vietnam could boast Raquel Welch, in Iraq they have had to make do with sometime pop singer and reality TV star Jessica Simpson."

Gee, isn't that convenient? And if the 9th Circus Court of Appeals turns you down...??? Uh, dude, you're REALLY SCREWED!

LANSDALE, Pa. -- A Pennsylvania student is off the hook after the American Civil Liberties Union defended his right to wear a political T-shirt to school. Chris Schiano's T-shirt said "International Terrorist" and had a picture of President Bush.
(note: picture left is NOT of the student, nor of the AP, but it IS some idiot at a PUBLIC anti-Bush rally!)

A security guard at his high school north of Philadelphia told him to take it off. He refused. Schiano says he's well versed in the First Amendment. He says he "knew right off they had no legal footing to stand on."

The principal says after hearing from the ACLU, school officials realized that the shirt, while potentially offensive, didn't violate the school's dress code. It had no references to sex, drugs, ethnic intimidation or explicit language. Schiano says he's now wearing the shirt to school and no one's given him a hard time.

Yes, this jackass has the right to wear this t-shirt, but I also have the right to be offended by it! It also affords ME the right to know exactly who the idiots ARE!

*sigh*... when will the ACLU protect ME from being offended? Or why won't they come to defend the civil rights of families of our fallen soldiers against that dumbass Kansas Reverend and his idiot, kook fringe when he and his flock protest their Soldiers' funerals, saying that "God killed them" because they are fighting for an unholy nation of abortionists!?!?

Lieberman In Good Company

I'm not quite sure how Sen. Lieberman feels about this, but according to the New York Times today, Lieberman's party sees him more as a "wayward son." Much to the chagrin of his party, he's gaining Republican favor, too! Oh, the HORRORS! I bet sKerry HATES that!

WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 - Five years after running as the vice-presidential nominee on the Democratic ticket and a year after his own presidential bid, Senator Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut has become an increasingly unwelcome figure within his party, with some Democrats seeing him more as a wayward son than a favorite son.

In the last few days, the senator has riled Democratic activists and politicians here and in his home state with his vigorous defense of President Bush's handling of the Iraq war at a time some Democrats are pressuring the administration to begin a withdrawal.

Mr. Lieberman particularly infuriated his colleagues when he pointed out at a conference here that President Bush would be commander in chief for three more years and said that "it's time for Democrats who distrust President Bush to acknowledge that."

"We undermine the president's credibility at our nation's peril," Mr. Lieberman said.

Much of the open criticism has been from liberal groups and House members. But his comments have also rankled Democrats in the Senate. Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the minority leader, phoned Mr. Lieberman this week to express concerns with his views, Mr. Reid's aide said.

"Senator Reid has a lot of respect for Senator Lieberman," said Jim Manley, a Reid spokesman. "But he feels that Senator Lieberman's position on Iraq is at odds with many Americans."

An aide to another leading Democratic senator who insisted on anonymity said the feelings toward Mr. Lieberman could be summed up as, "The American people want to hold George Bush accountable for the failed policy in Iraq, and Senator Lieberman doesn't."

Mr. Lieberman, who remains immensely popular in his home state, is aware of the hornet's nest he has stirred.

"Some Democrats said I was being a traitor," (actual traitor photo below ... my personal 'literary license') he said in an interview on Friday, adding that he was not surprised by the reaction, "given the depth of feeling about the war."

Although some Democrats are upset with Mr. Lieberman, Republicans are embracing him, with President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld singling him out, and his support for the war, for praise in speeches this week.

"He is entirely correct," Mr. Cheney said on Tuesday at Fort Drum, N.Y. "On this, both Republicans and Democrats should be able to agree. The only way the terrorists can win is if we lose our nerve and abandon our mission."

I don't know about you folks, but personally I've been enjoying watching the implosion and near immolation of the Democratic party of late, thanks to the likes of Dr. "Yeaarrrgh!" Dean, Sen. sKerry, and the likes. The new RNC ad has me PUMPED and INVIGORATED! FINALLY I think the plan has worked. You know the old saying.... give a person enough rope, and they will hang themself! Well, we're at the end of our rope, and it seems that they've accepted every inch of it... firmly wrapping it around their own myrmidon necks.

Joe Lieberman has nothing to worry about. He's not alone in his beliefs (nor rejection). He joins the good company of Zell Miller, N.D. Rep. Earl Pomeroy, and I'm sure many others who have spoken out, or who want to speak out, but might be afraid to BECAUSE of the condemnation that Zell faced. But, Zell had nothing to lose and he was fed up with being betrayed by his own party - he was also in the final stage of his political career (too bad for his party, and too bad for the rest of us), and he thought it was time to tell it like it was.

More and more, Democrats who finally realize their party is leaving (or has left) them, are starting to speak out. We may not hear about it in the BBNs (Bush-Bashing networks), but what else would you expect from them? They can't even stomach to put out the positive news on Iraq!

Hollywood Teams Up With ACLU Against Judge Alito

Well, I'm shocked (sarcasm intended)! According to the New York Times today, Hollywood is gearing up to fight Judge Alito's confirmatio n to the U.S. Supreme Court, and they've joined forces with some of the heavy-weights in the Communist/Socialits arena - the ACLU and People for the American Way. Wow! Most notable of notables in this foray is the inimitable Sharon Stone and Norman Lear (another shocker, I'm sure) pictured below.

According to the article:

WASHINGTON, Dec. 6 - With a battle over the Supreme Court nomination of Judge Samuel A. Alito Jr. just around the corner, a little slice of Hollywood arrived in the capital Tuesday night to raise money for People for the American Way, the liberal advocacy group leading the charge against the judge's confirmation.

The actress Sharon Stone greeted the producer Norman Lear Tuedayat the annual Spirit of Liberty Celebration at the Kennedy Center in Washington. The event raised money for People for the American Way.

The star-spangled awards benefit at the Kennedy Center featured the actresses Sharon Stone, Sharon Gless and Tyne Daly, as well as a performance by original cast members from the musical "Rent."

It was expected to raise several hundred thousand dollars for the advocacy group, and it was just the kind of event conservatives love to hate.

Five hundred guests who had paid $250 each mingled over chardonnay and hors d'oeuvres during a cocktail hour while black-clad celebrities posed before flashing cameras.

The attendees represented a Who's Who of liberal groups, including the American Civil Liberties Union and the Alliance for Justice, which also opposes Judge Alito.

"The religious right already controls the White House, the Senate and the House of Representatives," Ralph G. Neas, president of People For, as the group is known in Washington and Hollywood circles, said in a speech as the awards ceremony began.
Now, Mr. Neas warned, the right is planning to "pack the Supreme Court with right-wing ideologues."
Ms. Stone arrived with her extended family - grandparents, niece and brother-in-law included - wearing four-inch heels and a plunging neckline set off by an oversize crystal brooch that, she said, she received as a "wrap present" after making the film "Basic Instinct."

Funny she mentions a 'basic instinct.' Hmmm... Sounds like a Pavlovian reaction by Dems to anything Republican and/or conservative. This should be a good battle, yes? Hmmm... thinking back to the recent "successes" Hollywood has had lately, I don't think Alito has anything to worry about. Fly-swatter anyone? Please pass to the Judge.

Clooney's "Syriana" on Track with Hollywood's Leftist Agenda

I've been waiting to capture these freeze-frame images from the "Syriana" movie trailer on television. It moves so fast it's actually hard to see, but paying close attention, I caught it!

But, poor, poor, pitiful George... according to one of Drudge's recent headlines, Clooney is claiming this has been the 'worst year of his life.' According to the article:

GEORGE CLOONEY has declared the past 12 months to be the worst year of his life, after dealing with death, depression and health problems. Among his long list of woes, the 44-year-old actor had to deal with painful spinal damage after gaining a huge amount of weight for his role in his latest movie SYRIANA.
He says, "When I started the movie I had gone through a series of sort of unhappy times. Some bad things had happened in my life and it's also depressing to put on that much weight that quickly. I did it in 30 days.
"So I was really sort of reflecting what I was going through in a way. It wasn't a lot of acting, it was just sort of me playing a part I wasn't very happy in and I wasn't very happy at the time either."

A part he wasn't happy in playing? Did he refuse his paycheck? Did he dislike the weight he had to gain? What? I don't get it....

I've known for a long time that Clooney is one of our Hollyweird Lefties who has an agenda. The movie trailers on television for this Syriana production have a very slick, and very fast-moving, subliminal message when the movie title displays (intentional or not). Yes, an Arkansas doctor says, he destroys life. But he believes the thousands of women who have relied on him have been 'born again.'

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Dr. William F. Harrison has forgotten how many children the woman had. He remembers she was poor and, most vividly, he remembers her response when a physician diagnosed her distended stomach as pregnancy."Oh, God, doctor," the woman said. "I was hoping it was cancer." This should have been his first clue this was morally wrong!

This was in 1967. Harrison was a medical student and his wife was expecting their third child. It had never occurred to him that a woman would be anything but happy to learn she was pregnant. The next year, he trained on a maternity ward. In a 24-hour shift, it was not unusual, he said, for four or five women to come in feverish or hemorrhaging from botched abortions. So that justifies his current actions?

Harrison opened an obstetrics and gynecology practice, but after the Supreme Court established abortion as a constitutional right in 1973, he decided to take on an additional specialty. Wow! What a lucrative new business from which he can make more money, now that it's legal! What an entrepreneur! Now 70, Harrison estimates he's terminated at least 20,000 pregnancies. I can't imagine anyone else being SO damned proud! His clinic has not been picketed for years, but Harrison feels very much on the front lines these days. And who puts you in that position, sir?

Debate over President Bush's nominee for the Supreme Court, Samuel A. Alito Jr., has centered on abortion. Activists on both sides warn - or pray - that if Alito is confirmed, the court may one day reverse Roe vs. Wade. We can only pray that it DOES! At least a dozen states, and perhaps as many as 30, would probably continue to allow most abortions. But abortion rights activists predict that terminating a pregnancy would become a criminal act across much of the South, the Midwest and the Rocky Mountain region. Again.. the problem with criminalization of this is????

In Arkansas, for instance, the state constitution sets out "to protect the life of every unborn child from conception until birth." You gotta be kidding me? In Slick Willie Country? At least 10 other states - including Illinois, Louisiana, Pennsylvania and Utah - have similar language in their constitutions or legal codes.

Harrison warns every patient he sees that abortion may be illegal one day. So what, you want to speed up their decisions and make your money while you can? He wants to stir them to activism, but most women respond mildly. "I can't imagine the country coming to that," says Kim, 35, in for her second abortion in two years. Second??? Whaaaa???? Must be a satisfied, repeat customer! Frequent fetus miles???

A high school senior says the issue won't weigh heavily when she evaluates candidates. "There's other issues I see as more important," she says, "like whether they'll raise taxes. "Patients asked to be identified only by their first names or, in some cases, by their ages to protect their privacy. What about the baby's right to live?

Harrison is beyond such concerns. Well, isn't this obvious?

For several years in the 1980s, his clinic was picketed, vandalized and once firebombed. I DO NOT condone the firebombing, but picketing and protests, YES! Protesters marched outside his home and death threats became routine. Well, he DEALT out death on a daily basis! Harrison responded by making his case.

He answered every phone call, replied to every letter in the newspaper and appeared at public forums to defend abortion rights. Eventually, the protesters in this college town left him alone. (Arkansas Right to Life focuses instead on educating women about alternatives to abortion, Executive Director Rose Mimms said.)

In the years since, Harrison has become more outspoken. He calls himself an "abortionist" and says, "I am destroying life."But he also feels he's giving life: He calls his patients "born again." What?? What kind of insane lunacy is this? "Born again?" What about "Never born in the first place" for the babies, you friggin homicidal maniac!

"When you end what the woman considers a disastrous pregnancy, she has literally been given her life back," he says. AAGGGHHH!!!! SOMEONE GIVE ME A TRANQUILIZER BEFORE I LOSE CONSCIOUSNESS!

Before giving up obstetrics in 1991, Harrison delivered 6,000 babies. Childbirth, he says, should be joyous; a woman should never consider it a punishment or an obligation. "Punishment?" "Obligation?" How about trying to keep your legs closed, learn some moral and ethical values from your parents or SOMEBODY, for crying out loud!!!! "We try to make sure she doesn't ever feel guilty," he says, "for what she feels she has to do." And who says she "has" to do it? Your doctor's fees?

It is a few minutes before 11 a.m. when Harrison raps on the door of his operating room and walks in. His Fayetteville Women's Clinic occupies a once-elegant home dating to the 1940s; the first-floor surgery looks like it was a parlor. Thick blue curtains block the windows and paintings of butterflies and flowers hang on the walls. The radio is tuned to an easy-listening station.

An 18-year-old with braces on her teeth is on the operating table, her head on a plaid pillow, her feet up in stirrups, her arms strapped down at her sides. A pink blanket is draped over her stomach. She's 13 weeks pregnant, at the very end of the first trimester.

She hasn't told her parents. EXACTLY WHY WE NEED JUDGE ALITO ON THE BENCH!!!!!!

A nurse has already given her a local anesthetic, Valium and a drug to dilate her cervix; Harrison prepares to inject Versed, a sedative, in her intravenous line. The drug will wipe out her memory of everything that happens during the 20 minutes she's in the operating room. The hell it will! It's so effective that patients who return for a follow-up exam often don't recognize Harrison. I'd be embarassed to say I recognized this monster myself, much less go back for a second visit!

The doctor is wearing a black turtleneck, brown slacks and tennis shoes. He should be wearing a black hooded robe, carrying a sicle! He snaps his gum as he checks the monitors displaying the patient's pulse rate and oxygen count. "This is not going to be nearly as hard as you anticipate," he tells her. That's easy for you to say, jackass! She smiles wanly.

Keeping up a constant patter - he asks about her brothers, her future birth control plans, whether she's good at tongue twisters Maybe good "tongue twisters" is what her got into this situation in the FIRST place! - Harrison pulls on sterile gloves."How're you doing up there?" he asks. "Doing OK"

"Good girl." Sounds like a pedophile to me!

"Harrison glances at an ultrasound screen frozen with an image of the fetus taken moments before. Against the fuzzy black-and-white screen, he sees the curve of a head, the bend of an elbow, the ball of a fist. "You may feel some cramping while we suction everything out," Harrison tells the patient. Okay, how does this man sleep at night? Much less the 'reporter' who could actually report this bullshi*!

A moment later, he says: "You're going to hear a sucking sound. "The abortion takes two minutes. The patient lies still and quiet, her eyes closed, a few tears rolling down her cheeks. The friend who has accompanied her stands at her side, mutely stroking her arm. When he's done, Harrison performs another ultrasound. The screen this time is blank but for the contours of the uterus. "We've gotten everything out of there," he says. My God, you are a sick man, and I'm not sure you can even BE forgiven for the casual way in which you consider these things.

As the nurse drops the instruments in the sink with a clatter, the teenager looks around, woozy. "It was a lot easier than I thought it would be," she says. That's the whole problem with the practice.... too easy. Not like making wise decisions. "I thought it would be horrible, but it wasn't. The procedure, that is."She is not yet sure, she says, how she is doing emotionally. She feels guilty, sad and relieved, all in a jumble. And will hopefully continue to feel that way for a long time to come.

"There's things wrong with abortion," she says. "But I want to have a good life. Well, what the hell were you thinking when you laid down with that boy and gave him what is sacrosanct for a woman? And provide a good life for my child." To keep this baby now, she says, when she's single, broke and about to start college, "would be unfair." UNFAIR? DO YOU REALLY WANT TO GIVE THE 'UNFAIR' ARGUMENT??? AGGHHHH!!! ~ going insane at this point ~

Politicians on both sides of the abortion debate often talk up adoption as a better alternative. Harrison's patients do not consider it an option. Why not? Because it's not offered as an option probably.

A high school volleyball player says she doesn't want to give up her body for nine months. "I realize just from the first three months how it changes everything," she says. Folks, as a civilization, we are doomed if this is the product of the modern American family. ~BP rising~

Kim, a single mother of three, says she couldn't bear to give away a child and have to wonder every day if he were loved. Ending the pregnancy seemed easier, she says - as long as she doesn't let herself think about "what could have been." Hmmm.. yes, that's it... don't think about what you've done. Just think about yourself and how YOU can just throw away your "mistakes." Yeah, that's being grown-up and responsible!

By law, Harrison's staff must offer patients two pamphlets from the state. One lists adoption services and groups that provide free diapers, day-care subsidies and other aid. The second contains photos of the fetus at various stages of development. Patients don't have to accept either pamphlet. Most wave them away, their minds made up. Oh, says who?

For the few women who arrive ambivalent or beset by guilt, Harrison's nurse has posted statistics on the exam-room mirror: One out of every four pregnant women in the U.S. chooses abortion. A third of all women in this country will have at least one abortion by the time they're 45. "You think there's room in hell for all those women?" the nurse will ask. Um, yes.... Hell is rather roomy, I believe.

If the woman remains troubled, the nurse tells her to go home and think it over. "If they truly feel they're killing a baby, well, what else are they doing? Playing Twister? we're not going to do an abortion for them," says the nurse, who asked not to be identified for fear protesters would target her. And probably for fear her friends & family would disown her!

The 17-year-old in for a consultation this morning assures the nurse that she does not consider the embryo inside her a baby. "Not until it's developed," she says. "That would be about three months?"

"It's completely formed about nine weeks," the nurse tells her. "Yours is more like a chicken yolk." WHAT THE F&*k???????????? A DAMN CHICKEN YOLK? The girl, who is five weeks pregnant, looks relieved. "Then no," she says, "it's not a baby." !#$!%%!#$#$^^ Her mother sits in the corner wiping her tears. Then why doesn't she get up and march her daughter out of there???? She is NO MOTHER herself!

Harrison draws his own moral line at the end of the second trimester, or 26 weeks since the first day of the woman's last menstrual period. Oh, how ethical of him. Until that point, he will abort for any reason. Wait, I retract my last "ethical" comment about you. "It's not a baby to me until the mother tells me it's a baby," he says. Oh, and a 13-year-old can tell you when her fetus is a baby?

Amanda, a 20-year-old administrative assistant, says it's not the obstacles that surprise her - it's how normal and unashamed she feels as she prepares to end her first pregnancy. This is truly very sad....

"It's an everyday occurrence," she says as she waits for her 2:30 p.m. abortion. "It's not like this is a rare thing." Amanda hasn't told her ex-boyfriend that she's 15 weeks pregnant with his child. She hasn't told her parents, either, though she lives with them.

"I figured it was my responsibility," she says. She regrets having to pay $750 for the abortion, Somebody better bring me some BP medicine, I'm about to stroke out!!! but Amanda says she does not doubt her decision. "It's not like it's illegal. Oh, so that makes it okay? It's not like I'm doing anything wrong," she says.

"I've been praying a lot and that's been a real source of strength for me. Honey, if you've been praying to God, you've been praying to the WRONG God. I really believe God has a plan for us all. Yes, but I think another entity much further south has a plan for you, too! I have a choice, and that's part of my plan."

Before, after and even during an abortion, Harrison lectures his patients on birth control. Oh, how humanitarian of him! He urges them to get on the pill and to insist their partners use condoms. They promise. But Harrison knows many will be back. Of course! He probably really "sternly" lectures them, seeing that next $750 fee he can get, and the next person he can make "born again" for the 5th, 6th & 7th times... yeah, right!

His first patient of the day, Sarah, 23, says it never occurred to her to use birth control, though she has been sexually active for six years. When she became pregnant this fall, Sarah, who works in real estate, was in the midst of planning her wedding. "I don't think my dress would have fit with a baby in there," she says. Well, I'll be a sonofabitch... wouldn't that just suck if you spent all of your Macy's credit on a dress, and now it won't fit? Darn the luck! Not to mention, your dress probably won't be white!

The last patient of the day, a 32-year-old college student named Stephanie, has had four abortions in the last 12 years. She keeps forgetting to take her birth control pills. Abortion "is a bummer," she says, "but no big stress." Guys.. it's time to call 911... I'm having an aneurysm... "forgetting" to take her BC pill? pregnancy is a "bummer?" "No big stress?" Gee, honey, I wonder how your baby felt as it was SUCKED out of your uterus and disappeared from the ultrasound image!

Harrison does not get frustrated with such patients. He has learned to focus on the facts he considers most important: This woman does not want to be pregnant. He can give her back control of her life and keep a child from coming into the world unwanted. He believes in this so strongly, he waives his fees for women who can't come up with the money. %$$^$%#*$&*$$%^!$%^

Last February, Harrison injured his head in a fall. I'm really hurt over this. I feel so sad for his injuries... He underwent three surgeries and spent months in rehabilitation. Obviously didn't work. His wife urged him to retire. Smart lady! "There's no one to take my place," he told her.

As soon as he felt strong enough, Harrison was back in surgery. He'll keep at it as long as his stamina holds, or as long as it is legal. Three abortions before lunch and three more after: The appointment book is always full. Oh, what a proud man you must be... that's $2,250 for you for the day! Not too bad for an evil day's work.

Sir, you are one evil sonofabitch... I found your picture on the internet, and posted it here (right). Closely resembles what I've read about your beliefs and who you truly are inside (and it sounds like YOUR "inside" has also been "sucked out."...) Not even Father Merrin can save you now.

Dems are Losers Once Again

403 to 3... That's the headline.

I just finished watching 3 hours of C-SPAN; something I think the average 42-year-old single woman would be ashamed of admitting on a Friday night. However tonight was an especially important night. Rep. Murtha (D - PA), and yes, he's a decorated veteran, proposed that we pull out IMMEDIATELY from Iraq... he is/was calling for immediate troop withdrawal from Iraq. So, the Republicans called them on their bluff of this proposition.

Rep. Murtha was saying that immediate withdrawal from Iraq was what was needed, but the Republicans knew that was not true. Paying appropriate homage to Murtha's service in Viet Nam, the Republicans forced the vote for a "yay or nay" on the proposition. They Democraps tried so hard to stop that, but they were unsuccessful.

In essence, the Democraps didn't want this vote for a vote to pass. They wanted this idea to float around for a while, incite their base to to agree with them, but the Republicans knew their game. They asked for and got an immediate vote TO vote on this resolution. In the end, after 2+ hours of posturing and conjecture at the podiums, the Republicans got their way and the Dems lost.

Neal Boortz also weighed in on this today:

Democrat Congressman John Murtha of Pennsylvania took to the floor of the House of Representatives yesterday to call for aniimmediate pullout of American troops from Iraq. I'm told that Muslims don't drink. Perhaps so, but I'm betting that they were more than willing to throw down a cool one when this Democrat stood up in the U.S. Capitol to plead their case. Murtha was actually calling for the very thing that these Islamic radicals have been trying to accomplish with their campaign of terror against Iraqi citizens and coalition troops.
Somewhere in Iraq yesterday the word of Murtha's cut-and-run strategy reached the home of an Iraqi who had, up to now anyway, been supporting the new freely-elected government of Iraq. As soon as he heard this American lawmaker talk about an immediate pullout this Iraqi started rethinking his options. Perhaps, he thought, it might be better to show some support and allegiance to the insurgency. After all, if the Americans suddenly leave the insurgency will have control of the Iraqi government in no time at all. It would be better to be alive under the insurgency than to die for supporting the new Iraqi government.
Elsewhere in Iraq an American serviceman from Pennsylvania couldn't believe what he had heard. He has seen first-hand the successes of the American armed forces in Iraq. He has personally felt the warmth of the Iraqi people who have shown their appreciation for the efforts of the Americans and their coalition partners. He has seen Iraqis with running water who have never had running water before, Iraqi children going to schools that didn't exist under Saddam. He knows what has been accomplished, and now he hears about this Democrat calling for him and his fellow soldiers to leave --- not when the job is finished, but right now.
And .... somewhere in Iraq, and in Syria, and in Iran, and in Jordan, and in Saudi Arabia, Murtha's words reached the ears of the Islamic terrorists themselves. Last week Democrats were calling for a timetable. This week they have Democrats calling for an immediate withdrawal. They view this as nothing short than an immense victory. They know what they must now do. They must step up the campaign.
Strap bombs on more suicide bombers, plant more roadside devices. They have their hated non-believer enemy on the run. Today there's one member of congress calling for an immediate surrender. Kill a few more Americans and tomorrow maybe there will be two. Murder a Mosque full of Iraqis and more will turn against their new government.
Kill a few school teachers and school children and more Iraqi children will shun the schools newly built by Americans. The infidels are collapsing. They're growing weak. Their resolve is dissolving. Keep up the pressure --- step up the pressure --- and soon Iraq will be theirs! Not only will Iraq be theirs, but the Arab people will once again have a stark reminder that the Americans cannot be trusted to keep their word, to carry out their goals. Once again the Americans will have left tens of thousands of Iraqis to die at the hands of the Islamic terrorists.
Why didn't Murtha take this one step further? Why didn't he ask for us to restore Saddam's presidential palaces and put him back in power before we run?
Tell me. Is Murtha a French name?

The resolution? Final vote for a "no" to immediate complete withdrawal of troops from Iraq was 403-3. Murtha's original suggestion for such was top-news on Al-Jazeera and all of the alphabet soup networks here, so I'm wondering if this quick rebuke of the same proposition will be justly broadcast? Doubt it ... remember, if it's good for Bush, it's not "news."

Our Internet is Once Again in GRAVE Danger!

Folks, I've said this in a previous post, and Neal Boortz was talking about it again yesterday, but I'm going to say it one more time. In light of today's latest news in the UK Independent Online, we are truly in danger of losing control over the Internet!

Sunday afternoon there was a little tease headline on Drudge. The headline said something to the effect that the United Nations was determined to gain control of the Internet followed by the word "developing" This morning I went right back to Drudge to see what he found. The headline was gone. The headline may be gone, but the threat remains. There's another story out there today that should run side-by-side with the "UN Control of the Internet" story. An AFP story today leads "Dark days are ahead for American newspapers, as sales tumble, a warp-speed news culture leaves lumbering dailies behind and scandals over flawed reporting taint heavyweight titles."
The story goes on to say that U.S. newspapers are battling an explosion in online information. That would be the Internet. So ... combine the two stories and what do you have? You have the United Nations, an organization that is not now and has never been friendly to the United States, working diligently to gain control of the system that more and more Americans are relying on for their daily news. If you don't see an extreme danger in this you are either brain dead or a Democrat.

Now, from the UK Independent online today, further evidence is provided:

More than 40 world leaders, including Kofi Annan, the UN secretary general, are set to attend, and the ownership of the World Wide Web itself is at stake. What the delegates won't discuss is the creeping spectre of censorship.
What began as a military research project at the Pentagon has exploded into the most powerful network in the world and an entity upon which the global economy increasingly relies. Its future character is now in question.
At present, the closest the internet has to a governing body is an obscure American, non-profit corporation called Icann. This quasi-independent body has, for years, quietly regulated domain names and allocated addresses. But its lease is nearly up. And the world's rich and powerful will join battle for control of what they see as a gold mine.
The Bush administration wants Icann turned into a private corporation, on US soil and subject to US controls. Much of the rest of the world objects to that but the loudest opponents are countries with a history of censorship and repression, such as China and Iran. The likely balance of power in that struggle rests with the European Union, whose position is not clear.

Is this not clear to you all where this is heading? Kofi can't even manage the Oil For Food Program... what the hell do you expect either the UN or the EU to do to our Internet? We can kiss our "free speech" goodbye! And we can most ASSUREDLY kiss our Conservative blogging asses goodbye if this ever comes to fruition!

People, if we don't stop resting on our laurels and start fighting, we are going to wind up living in a fascist, socialist state run by Islamic Radicals.

World Politics and Appeasement - Dave's View

Current events in France, the rest of Europe in general, and today's bombings of hotels (see photo right) in Amman, Jordan indicate the folly of appeasement with terrorists.

The youthful, deprived, low income, desperate juveniles in France are not rioting for equality, they are rioting because they are Muslims and their Imams have been preaching 'Holy War' to them all of their lives. They flat out hate all Westerners, in fact they hate anyone that is not a Muslim. Great religion that.

To make matters even worse, Christianity is practically non-existent in what was once a staunchly Catholic country. So secularism rules, just as it does here in many parts of the U.S.

Of course the price of that secularism is a vacuum which the Muslims are attempting to fill at any cost.

Now, socialist France is ripe for this kind of activity. It has nothing to do with class warfare or lack of jobs. Any of these 'utes' would have been far worse off in their ethnic country of origin, but don't look for that in the news.

The media can't even bring itself to call them Muslim terrorists, which make the news media about as much of a eunuch as the sorry leaders of France.

The liberals of the United States are intellectually bereft of knowing how to deal with terrorists and the crises they are causing throughout the world on an almost daily basis now.

Why must we relive 1938 all over again just so that we can relearn the lessons taught to us by Neville Chamberlin? This is one of those "You can pay me now . . . or you can pay me later" kind of things, and if we wait to pay later, the price will be that much more dear.

California Election Results - View from a Californian

It is Wednesday morning here in the lovely state of California, and I awaked to find that 'We have met the enemy, and he is us,' to quote Pogo, that wonderful possum from the Okefenokee that Walt Kelley used in his comic strip. If you don't remember Walt Kelley & Pogo, you have really missed a lot in life.

A short time ago, Californians went to the polls in a special recall election to oust our former governor, Gray Davis. Ahnold was elected by a large majority and went to work to correct many of the things that are wrong. The first thing that he did was to reverse the new State tax that would have tripled auto registration. Then he vetoed the Legislature's attempt to give California State drivers licenses to illegal aliens . . . ! ! ! At this time the State of California is virtually bankrupt, and our credit rating for borrowing money is the lowest of all of the 50 states.

When the governator was stonewalled by the Democratically controlled Legislature, he went to the people, and ordered a special election for a number of propositions that he felt were needed. They were all 'no brainers,' and easy to understand, at least they were until the libs got a hold of them.

They, (the opposition) began by telling us that this special election would cost some $80 million dollars (which it didn't) and then promptly began a campaign against all of the measures, that cost easily twice that much. We were deluged on radio, TV and in the print media by ads against all of the propositions. Why? Because it would begin to bring an end to great power and mismanagement in our government.

One of the propositions was to increase the length of time that California teachers would have to wait for 'tenure' from 2 years to 5 years. Why would teachers, or anyone outside of the United Stated Supreme Court need tenure anyway? If you don't do your job well, you get a warning, and if you don't improve you get terminated. Is that difficult to understand?

Who was/is against this? The California Teacher's Union for one. To hear their public opposition to this proposition, you would have to believe that the Governor's proposal would have stripped school lunches away from the little tykes, and done other irreparable harm. They screamed about cutting back monies for our schools . . . which, in typical Democratic manner, was a baldfaced lie. What the governor proposed, along with many other areas of California government, was to cutback the amount of the INCREASE . . . get that, the INCREASE in funding, over the prior year! To Democrats, that is a cutback, no matter that it actually is an . . . what is it now, boys and girls? . . . an INCREASE !

The public employees unions in California have gotten drunk with power, and use it constantly at the State Capitol to get what they want. It's all about power and control, most of it behind the scenes. Employees are practically coerced into joining these unions, and a portion of their dues goes to support liberal candidates that the Union leaders which to support. Talk about taxation without representation !

You don't actually have to join the union, but they make it so difficult, that few opt out. The same with the payroll deductions to support political candidates . . . you CAN opt out, but the blizzard of paperwork is against you, and you are immediately set up as a 'trouble maker.'

As an aside here, I have a very good friend whose wife WAS a teacher. Her District nominated her for Outstanding Teacher of the Year. When it was discovered that she was not a union member her nomination was withdrawn, unless that is . . . she decided to join the union. Is this a great country or what? Do you think she wasn't an outstanding teacher after all?

Another of the propositions would permit California Schools to drive YOUR 12-17 year old daughter to the nearest Planned Parenthood (read Abortion) Clinic, where she would be given the option of having an abortion to terminate her pregnancy. Hold on now . . . and all of this WITHOUT parental notification ! ! ! Yes, you read that right, the parents would never know unless their daughter chose to tell them.

Now these are the same schools where it is ILLEGAL to give a child so much as an aspirin, without parental notification AND permission. But, they can have a serious surgical procedure, and end a life. (yes, that's what I said ... I'm one of those that believe life begins at the moment of conception . . . prove me wrong). Go figure!

The extremely disturbing thing about all of this is that we maybe, I said MAYBE, had a 42% turn out to vote yesterday! That means that 58% of the registered voters of the State of California didn't give a rat's ass about voting.

My wife and I went into the polling place yesterday morning and voted in about 45 seconds. We had our ballots marked already, we had studied the propositions, there were no surprises. Think that is what the average voter does? Hardly. Most people are seeing the things on which they are voting for the very first time when they get into the voting booth.

These things are written in such a way that a person with a MA or even a PhD would have difficulty understanding them, much less John Q. Public.

Yesterday also, the city and county of San Francisco (they are one and the same, geographically) tried to outlaw ownership and sale of all firearms within the city and county. This would make it the toughest anti-gun law in the nation, outdoing even New York and Washington, DC. Of course few cared that it was totally illegal . . . a violation of the Second Amendment, and federal law takes precedence over state, county and city laws.

A couple of days ago O'Reilly had Angela Alioto on his program. Angela Alioto is the well-to-do daughter of former Democratic Mayor of San Francisco, Joseph Alioto, and she is adamantly opposed to any one having any type of firearm. When O'Reilly tried to point out to her what happened in New Orleans, when gangs of armed people looted, mugged and attacked . . . her reply was that the police would protect her. . . . . Now in event of a disaster, and an earthquake IS coming to San Francisco, it's only a matter of when . . . the police not only will have their hands more than full, they physically may not be able to reach her home, even if they had the manpower. Her answer to that was that criminals shouldn't have guns! ARRGH ! How can you get through to people who can't think any better than this?

I know this is long, and I know that practically none of you live in California, but you should care, because California is a bellwether for the nation. How many things do you have now, where you live, because they began here on the Left Coast? Be warned!

Mark Steyn is always "spot on." Yesterday in the Chicago Sun-Times, his opinion piece tells it like only he can. All of the Bush-bashers and naysayers are wanting us to believe that this has been a bad couple of weeks for Bush. They couldn't be farther from the truth (than they usually are anyway).

According to Steyn's piece:

The "Ding Dong, the Bush Is Dead" fever rages on, disappointments notwithstanding. Hurricane Katrina was, politically, a wash. And say what you like about Harriet Miers, but at least the disaffected right wrapped the whole thing up in a month. Meanwhile, the left's still panting orgasmically about Patrick Fitzgerald's investigation into what Scooter Libby said to Judith Miller about what Valerie Plame knew about what Joseph C. Wilson IV said . . . zzzz . . . fingers growing heavy . . . losing the will to type . . .

And tonight, I'm hearing that new polls show that 55% of Americans believe Bush's presidency has been a failure. Folks, when is somebody in the media going to get it right about just what exactly is the genesis of poll figures? In my opinion, ALL poll numbers that media outlets release should be prefaced by a disclaimer. My favorite, self-formed disclaimer would be this: "Be advised that the following poll results are based on public perception only, which is actually reflective of what is portrayed in the mainstream media outlets as 'news'. With that in mind, please note, the margin of error is +/- 40%." But then again, that's just my opinion.

Anybody have any problem with that? It's true, isn't it?

All last week, lefty gloaters were eagerly anticipating "Fitzmas," their designation for that happy day when federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald hands down indictments against Libby, and Rove, and maybe Cheney, and -- boy oh boy, who knows? -- maybe Chimpy Bushitlerburton himself.
Pat Fitzgerald has been making his list, checking it twice, found out who's naughty or nice, and he's ready to go on a Slay Ride leaving Bush the Little Drummed-Out Boy and the Dems having a blue blue blue blue blue-state Christmas in November 2006, if not before.
Well, I enjoy the politics of personal destruction as much as the next chap, and one appreciates that it's been a long time since the heady days when Dems managed to collect the scalps of both Newt Gingrich and his short-lived successor within a few short weeks. But, as I've said before, one reason the Democratic Party is such a bunch of losers is because they're all tactics and no strategy.
Suppose they succeed in destroying Libby and a bunch of other non-household names. Then what? Several analysts are suggesting that the 2006 elections are shaping up like 1994, when Newt's revolution swept the Democratic old guard from power.

Always remember the media double-standard. If it's good for the Republicans, it won't play in the press; if it's bad for Republicans, it gets Page 1 attention nationwide!

What a wonderful life, huh? Guess Harry Reid is getting a lump of coal in his stocking this season.

The MSM, you see, doesn't want us to REALIZE this evil known as the "peace-loving religion of Islam." If we did, then they (the MSM) would serve no useful purpose to civilization as we know it.

Late this evening, Gov. Bush of Florida made an announcement at a news conference he was giving about relief efforts after Hurricane Wilma ran roughshod over his state. He said "Don't blame FEMA. This is our responsibility." Governor Bush rightly admitted that the people of Florida, although they were badly battered, had plenty of notice to take action to prepare for themselves.

MIAMI (AP) - Gov. Jeb Bush took the blame Wednesday for frustrating delays at centers distributing supplies to victims of Hurricane Wilma, saying criticism of the Federal Emergency Management Agency was misdirected.
"Don't blame FEMA. This is our responsibility," Bush said at a news conference in Tallahassee with federal Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff, who oversees the agency.
Many Floridians were still struggling to find food, water, ice and gas on the third day of recovery from Wilma, waiting in line for hours - sometimes in vain. Miami-Dade's mayor called the distribution system flawed and said at least one relief site of 11 in his county ran out of supplies...
..."People had ample time to prepare. It isn't that hard to get 72 hours worth of food and water," said Bush, repeating the advice that officials had given days before Wilma hit.

Now, I wonder why, after all this time, the politicians of Louisiana are still looking for the Federal Government to bail them out? Why is it that Misssissippi and Alabama have already recovered, and, in fact, gave their surplus supplies to Louisiana, yet Louisiana still can't get their act together? Oh, wait... I forgot... yes, the evil, dreaded, Federal Government, who nobody wants in their lives, is supposed to take care of those who are "less fortunate." Please people, don't make me remind you about what I think of the "less fortunate." In fact, that sect of our social strata doesn't even really exist.

And the stories of Katrina's "evacuees" just get better and better, and they prove exactly why the "government will take care of me" will forever enslave an entire culture that has thrived in New Orleans for decades. (ooh, am I gonna get the hate mail over THIS picture!)

Last Sunday, in the Atlanta Journal Constitution (read: Al Jazeera Constitution), they chronicled the woes of a Katrina "victim" named Rolanda, whose FEMA benefits were about to run out. She's staying at a local hotel here in Atlanta, on your taxpayer dime, and her only worry is "where is the next hand-out coming from?" Never mind the fact she's had computer access at the hotel where she's staying; she's only used it for searches for new (free) government housing when her FEMA funds run out where she's staying. What is wrong with this woman and her boyfriend, who is staying with her? Never mind... that was really a sarcastic, rhetorical question anyway.

THE POOR, POOR PITIFUL EVACUEES!
Yesterday's edition of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution featured a story entitled "Fear of Eviction: Evacuees worry aid will run out."
The story featured one Rolanda Cain, her one-year-old baby and her "boyfriend." Rolanda has been living in a motel on Fulton Industrial Blvd. in Atlanta since she left New Orleans. The article says that the federal government has been paying the hotel bill. Not so. It's the taxpayers who have been footing the bill for Rolanda and her boyfriend. The federal government merely seizes the money and passes it on.
Rolanda is worried about being evicted from the motel. She says "We have a place to stay. We have food. The only worry is how long it will last."
Say what? Rolanda's "only worry" is how long the handouts are going to last? Maybe it's just me, but if I were in her place I might be worried about, say, getting a job! Rolanda says that this is all very frustrating. "With no answers, you don't know which way to go." Well, Rolanda is quite the little self-starter, isn't she? Apparently she's sitting around waiting for "answers," instead of spending time on the phone or hitting the streets looking for some work. I wonder if she's even gone so far as to ask the manager of the hotel where she's living at taxpayer expense if he might hire her as a housekeeper? And her boyfriend? Is he out there looking for a job while Rolanda stays at home with the kid? The article says nothing. For all we know he may also be just sitting around waiting for "answers."
Well .. the answers don't seem to be coming, and Rolanda says that she's fed up with the FEMA program. Oh my! Rolanda's fed up! Someone alert the media! Oh, wait. Someone did ... and the AJC is really pouring it on thick here.
The article does point out that Rolanda has spent hours in the motel's computer room searching for other housing. Other housing paid for by taxpayers. Question: If Rolanda is so hot with the computer, why isn't she spending some time looking for jobs! Don't tell me there isn't a Waffle House or fast-food restaurant somewhere on Fulton Industrial Blvd. that Rolanda could walk to to earn a few bucks. Her hard-working boyfriend could look after the child.
Oh ... and about the child. The article doesn't seem to mention where Rolanda's baby-daddy is. He's probably out there searching for Rolanda so he can catch his child support payments up.
At the end of the article the Atlanta Journal-Constitution had a list of "What's available for evacuees." The list contained the federal disaster assistance programs that were available to evacuees. Among them were cash grants, free hotel stays, expedited housing assistance, low-interest loans, grants for medical care and other goodies. Nowhere in the list did you see any mention of jobs programs or training.

When are people going to stop playing the "it's everybody else's fault but mine" game? If the democrook libs get their way, the lazy poor masses of the left will be satiated ever more, but you and I will have to continue picking up the tab. I, for one, am sick of being "stuck with the check" at the end of a meal of which I was not even part.

Cops Enforcing Laws Is a Bad Idea???

Okay, folks, forgive me if I seem incredulous, but is the ACLU really saying it's bad for cops to enforce laws? Hang on a sec... let me go get my screen cleaner so I can make sure I'm seeing this right. Well, holy ('scuse me, ACLU) crap... it's true!

I'm not kidding about this - in fact, I wish I were. The Ohio ACLU Litigation Coordinator is saying just that about Butler County's plans to crack-down on illegal immigrants in their jurisdiction:

HAMILTON - Butler County officials said Friday they expect their plans to crack down on illegal aliens will generate a lot of controversy - particularly with civil rights activists and possibly ethnic groups or unions.
They were right.
By Friday afternoon the Ohio Civil Liberties Union was already on alert to closely watch and review Butler County's plans. "I have not seen the proposals or anything in writing yet on Butler County's plans, but from the little that I've heard I can say at the outset that, in general, any plan that calls for local law enforcement agencies to enforce federal immigration violations is a bad idea," said Ohio ACLU Litigation Coordinator Gary Daniels, of Cleveland.
At the outset, Daniels said local officials can't guarantee they aren't creating a situation that will invite or encourage racial profiling.
"You can write into new legislation or policies as many protections as you think are necessary for preventing racial profiling, but just because it's prohibited on paper doesn't mean profiling won't happen in reality," Daniels said. "Not all immigrants are people with brown skin.
"Therefore, the only way local officials can accomplish this type of policing fairly is if they required officers to ask citizenship questions of every single person they encounter," Daniels said. "More likely than not, these types of questions will fall disproportionately on immigrants with darker skin color."
Additionally, Daniels said implementing a state law that empowers local police and sheriff's officials to detain people for immigration violations could cause irreparable damage to already delicate relationships between law enforcement and immigrant communities.
"For very good reason, police agencies throughout the country have worked very hard to make positive in-roads into their local immigrant communities," Daniels said. "This proposal could create a culture of mistrust and fear that would impede police investigations which rely on obtaining information from those communities."

First of all, why is targeting "brown people" racial profiling? Last time I checked, I haven't seen any news clips or stories of hordes of blond-hair, blue-eyed people crossing the border en masse to achieve the wonders that America has to promise (not to mention the money to send back home to support your country of origin's government). It makes absolutely no sense to NOT look at "dark-skinned brown people" when looking for illegal Mexican immigrants! To do otherwise would be a tremendous waste of law enforcement's precious resources.

Okay, I'm going to do something I didn't really want to ever do here, but I'm going to break this out for you. When you take the oath as a police officer, you hold up your hand, swear to uphold not only the local laws, but also the laws of the state & the Federal governments. Illegality does not stop at city borders. Federal and state officers depend on municipal cops to help them do their job, and it's imperative that we work together to this end. I know this to be true, because I took that very oath.

People, why do we allow this organization to exist? I believe it has waged its own personal jihad against the very things that are woven into the fabric of America - God, Country, Individualism, Prosperity, Personal Responsibility; all tempered with Justice. If the ACLU, a tyrannical regime, continues to have its way imposing their love for international law upon the United States of America, then we, my friends, should be fearing fear itself.

If the Founding Fathers of this great Nation had any inkling that this organization would ever come to pass, I could easily believe that one last item would have been included in the Constitution to criminalize its very existence. The ACLU is truthfully the antithesis to what I believe to be true "civil rights."

Today the Australian press, as well as the MSM liberal idiots from the left around the world, are reporting about some Psy-Ops Officers who burned the bodies of a couple of dead Taliban fighters, and then broadcast a loud message calling them cowards, etc., to get them to come out and face our guys!

According to the article;

News of the burning of the Taliban fighters in violation of Islamic tradition came as the United States struggled to overcome its tarnished reputation after the sexual humiliation of prisoners at the Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and allegations of mistreatment of inmates at the Guantanamo Bay 'war on terror' camp in Cuba.....
The SBS Dateline program broadcast footage showing burning corpses on hills above the village of Gondaz, north of Kandahar, reportedly killed by US soldiers the previous night. Flames were seen around the two bodies with their arms and legs outstretched, with a group of five US soldiers standing watching from a rocky ledge.
The troops, members of the US 173rd Airborne said they burned the corpses for health reasons after they had been left out in the open for more than 24 hours, however a US psychological operations unit then broadcast a propaganda message on loudspeakers to Taliban fighters, taunting them to retrieve their dead and fight.
The burning of the corpses contravenes the Geneva Convention and is a practice offensive to Muslims, who bury their dead within 24 hours.
The suspected Taliban deaths occurred during an ambush of a US patrol, in which one American and one Afghan army soldier were killed. The clash took place before Afghanistan's parliamentary elections last month. US officials to taunt villagers suspected of harbouring insurgents.
The footage showed two US soldiers reading two messages from a notebook that they said had been broadcast earlier.
"Attention Taliban, you are all cowardly dogs," one message said. "You allowed your fighters to be laid down facing west and burned. You are too scared to retrieve their bodies. This just proves you are the lady boys we always believed you to be." Another stated: "You attack and run away like women. You call yourself Talibs but you are a disgrace to the Muslim religion and you bring shame upon your family. Come and fight like men instead of the cowardly dogs you are."
The Australian photojournalist who took the footage, Stephen Dupont (photo right), told SBS the troops apparently wanted to enrage the Taliban so that they would attack.

Well, EXCUSE the hell out of me? I could give TWO SHI*S LESS about a burning Taliban body! Since when do we start coddling to the sensitivities of the Islamofascist, extremist thugs, whose only mission in life is to KILL every infidel that does not convert to Islam? Islam is offended? Well it damn sure sucks being a Taliban fighter right now. My heart is bleeding, and I need someone to pass me a hankie!

So they are offended because they call the mistreatment of a Muslim corpse to be an act of "desecration???" By God, then I damn well am not just offended; I'm highly outraged by the 19 sons-a-bitches who flew fuel-laden missiles full of approximately 3,000 LIVING Americans into buildings and structures on 9/11! What the hell do these people think we're going to do?

I chalk this whole idiotic media debacle and blow-up up to two contributing factors: 1) The MSM, which we all know are monolithic when it comes to bashing this country and our President; and 2) the godforsaken, immoral, reprehensible, anti-American regime that IS the ACLU! This group of Euro-weenie-loving, ass-kissing, socialist commies has every one this country so afraid that we might offend the sensitivities of another country, that these bed-wetting, pantywaisted Leftists out there get their panties in a wad every time they SEE panties on a terrorist thug's head in a prison during a FRICKING TIME OF WAR!

Does anybody but me not understand, not only what IS, but what is the IMPORTANCE of the "PsyOps Group" of the U.S. Military? Geez-o-petes, people... When in Rome, if you don't know how to act like a Roman, you will NOT accomplish your mission! In essence, these murderous, raping, pillaging, Islamofascist extremist thugs only understand one thing - and that is violence.

Where was the media outrage when the American contractors were not only slaughtered, but were tortured, dismemebered, THEN burned and hung in a sick, twisted effigy from a bridge in Falljuah! Did you forget about that? I damn sure didn't, but the MSM not only forgot about it, but they didn't even give it any damn thought in the first place!

I also think others who so brutally had their heads sawn off for all to see (yet no MSM to air or publish, save Al-Jazeera) might just very well agree with me. The fact that the United States is expected to adhere to the Geneva Convention and other areas of wonderful International Laws, with which none of these Taliban fighters were a part of, is just nothing short of outrageous and unbelievable!

America, you better wake up and smell the napalm. Because if we continue to allow the likes of the ACLU (the world's ass-kissers), Amnesty International, et. al, dictate how we execute our wars and protect our country (the BEST country in the world), then we are in sad shape... and that napalm (in the form of a dirty bomb) will be coming soon to a neighborhood near you!

Republican Congressman, Tom Tancredo, has asked the ACLU to represent a student who refused to stand for the Mexican National Anthem at his public high school. Apparently Larkin High School in Elgin, Chicago, Illinois, was holding a "cultural awareness" program, and the school officials are none-too-happy with the son of Robert Bedard, who spoke for his son because he is a minor. The case has received some attention in the media, and I was wondering if your organization plans to take any action on behalf of this student, or any of the other students who may have felt coerced by the "officially sponsored" nature of the activity.
As recently as 2003, the Colorado chapter of the ACLU filed a lawsuit in federal district court challenging the constitutionality of school sponsored recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance. The ACLU's state legal director at that time told the media, "Public expressions of belief in the ideals of liberty and justice should be voluntary, not coerced." If the ACLU feels that asking students to recite the Pledge of Allegiance constitutes "coercion", I would imagine you would be equally concerned when students are compelled to pay homage to a foreign nation.
Additionally, one verse of the Mexican Anthem starts with the following words:
For in heaven your eternal destiny, has been written by the hand of God. The ACLU is well known for its ongoing effort to banish religious references from every corner of the American public square, and these lyrics are at least as religious as the Pledge. After reading the words, I was doubly surprised that your group has not already sprung into action to characterize the event as an unconstitutional "establishment of religion." I look forward to hearing from you on the ACLU's plans as they apply to this case. Thank you in advance for your time.

Gotta love the zinger at the end! He really gives the ACLU no chance but TO respond, but now, really... are any of us out there who are realistic about what to expect from the ACLU going to hold our breaths over this one? Don't bet on it. The ACLU cares more about representing the rights of foreign illegals and criminals than they do the rights of American citizens.

I'm anxiously awaiting to see how far this one goes... but again, I'm not holding out high expectations on this one. I think Tancredo is onto something. In fact, it might be a good idea for all of us in the future to demand the ACLU get involved ANYTIME a citizen of the United States has their civil rights violated.. and that includes Christians, Republicans, Conservatives, etc., whenever we are "oppressed" by the looney Left.

Comedy Act Targeted by ACLU

Since when is comedy subject to ACLU reproach? Well, it's happening. It just so happens that this comedy duo has a positive message, and are "faith-based," the ACLU finds malefaction at one of their flyers being handed out at a public school, according to the Washington Post.

According to the article:

Critics said the trouble is not with the program itself, but with invitations to a "faith-based" party that the pair distributed. Rick and Mick Vigneulle, identical twins, have performed at the White House and conducted chapel sessions for professional baseball teams.
Their Web site says the pair has answered the call to reach unchurched teens, because statistics show that 85% of people who make a profession of faith in Jesus Christ will do so before their 18th birthday."
But when the twins are cracking jokes onstage at public schools, Rick Vigneulle said yesterday, they are careful to keep it secular. "We work at keeping it that way so there is no misunderstanding," he said in a phone interview. "Our hope is not to offend but to help a lot of different students from different backgrounds."
The Vigneulles have been the subject of complaints before, including from the ACLU of Virginia after an appearance at a Williamsburg public school. Kent Willis, the Virginia ACLU executive director, said he did not take issue with the assembly but with the distribution on school property of fliers to attend a faith-based pizza party.
Similar invitations were extended at the Charles County assemblies. "Rick and Mick walk the line," Willis said. "Their purpose is clearly evangelical, but they do these secular performances as a way of encouraging students to attend the religious events."
Rick Vigneulle, 51, said he is upfront with school administrators about their intentions at the off-campus pizza parties called "Pizza Blasts." The fine print of the Charles County flier said the event was a "faith-based program" that was not sponsored by the schools. What I don't get is that this group is not trying to promote one religion over the other, and neither is the school? If this comedy duo did not say anything about religion, but just sent out a message of abstinence from drugs, alcohol, and other things, this would not be an issue for the ACLU?

Why is it they are so anti-Christian? They are the same idiots that want to ENSURE rights to Muslims, Atheists, and every other regious groups out there? I just don't get it.

Maybe if they had been watching the riots like the rest of us did on Fox, they might have known the truth about what happened. I too, like PoliticalTeen, am flummoxed by the lack of coverage fo this live-event, that lasted for hours. Only Fox News had anything about it the day it was happening. Heck, all they really had to do was listen to what the Mayor said afterwards "Toledo Mayor: Neo-Nazis Had Right to March."

Maybe ABC was late to the story because they use the same canoe they have over at NBC's "Today Show."

By the way folks, don't get hung up on the "pro-Nazi rally erupts into violence," because that's not the case. The permitted, pro-Nazi group (which I do not agree with), had already disbanded and left the area when these career criminals decided to take advantage of an opportunity to steal, vandalize, and once again, prove that mob mentality will be excused.

Okay, so I understand they were upset by city officials who granted them the permit to have the rally (which, by the way, had been known about for a couple of weeks), but these same criminal thugs would also want THEIR free-speech rights protected if they so chose to express it (which they did, by the way, but in a criminal manner).

I was incredulous when I saw the video images on Fox News of this throng of thugs throwing bricks & rocks into the windshield of ambulances that were entering the area to help people! Even the local news reporter's vehicle was attacked by a protestor (~cough~) or protestors, breaking their car/van windows with their fists!!! What the F*** was this all about??? This was a "protest" against the "pro-Nazi" rally? Give me a freaking BREAK!

Criminals will always look for an excuse to do what they do best - break the law, violate other peoples' civil rights, and profit by their own thuggery & savagery. By the way, if they're so proud of their message, why do these common criminal always hide their faces?

Toledo, Ohio Riots Break Out

BREAKING!!!

3:30 p.m E.S.T. - According to Fox News, a planned and permitted pro-Nazi Rally that was scheduled for today has been overshadowed by wide-spread looting and vandalism. This has apparently been occurring for the past 1 to 2 hours. The Pro-Nazi group had obtained a permit to have their rally, which was allegedly to protest the black gang violence against whites in the city, and many area blacks became enraged that the city would even allow this to happen.

Folks, we all know we have freedom of speech in this country, so even if we don't agree with the Pro-Nazi group, they have to right to express their views, and city officials cannot (unless they deem them to be violent) refuse their legally-submitted permit application.

Long after the Pro-Nazi group had left the area which resulted in several arrests of protestors, the looting & rioting continued in surrounding neighborhoods. Fox News has the WJBK (local news affiliate) helicopter video from the area, you can see the criminals (mostly black) senselessly going in and out of a structure, after having kicked down the doors, and taking stuff from the building. This happens over and over, and as Fox News reports, this "criminal activitiy" - not protest.

Then flames started shooting out of the building (now identified as a "bar"). Police several blocks away apparently finally realized that there was a scenario unfolding close by, and descended upon the area. They dispersed the criminal thugs and looters with tear gas, and I saw a few arrests being made.

Okay, here's the rant.... These "protestors" who were upset at the city officials for allowing this legal rally are NOT protesting the rally itself; they are "protesting" individual civil rights! They're taking this opportunity to loot, steal, ravage, set ablaze, and generally act like the societal miscreants they are. I know the news is touting that a "Pro-Nazi rally has turned violent," but that's not the case. The planned, but not realized, Pro-Nazi rally may have been the reasons the thugs gathered in the first place, but they are NOT an excuse to act like common hoodlums and thieves! Thank God the streets were empty, save for the criminal slime. Only structures were damaged and looted from. Yet still, these structure owners will have to repair their damaged and vandalized property.

::UPDATE:: 4:15 p.m. E.S.T. - As reported by Fox News, the Mayor of Toledo recently told reporters that these results were EXACTLY what the Pro-Nazi rally expected and intended to have happen when they scheduled their rally. Yes, they're blaming this activity on the "Nazis." What?? Does he expect me to step in that pile of cow squeeze? I can see right through his rose-colored glasses for his city because earlier on Fox News, they had a city council member on the phone, and he was saying "oh, no, this is a quiet town, no racial tensions, etc., blah, blah, blah." Yeah, right... They want to portray this city as a sleepy little hollow, while the rest of the people commenting from the law enforcement side, were rightly calling this area a "racial tinder box."

This was nothing more than the local criminal element taking advantage of a situation to which they could later assign blame for their actions. And it looks like the Mayor & city council members are going to be their enablers.

Civilian Contractor Reveals the "Bad News In Iraq"

I spent 20 months in Iraq, from December of 2003 until August of 2005, as a civilian security contractor. We guarded huge convoys of bombs, artillery shells, mortar rounds, rockets, tank rounds, missiles and the whole range of the weapons and ammunition that was in the possession of Saddam in the more than 120 Ammunition Supply Points located throughout Iraq. We provided this security for USA Environmental, an EOD contractor operating under the Corps of Engineers. Sometimes these convoys would include as much as 30 16 wheeler flatbed trucks loaded with about 20 tons apiece. These shipments of bombs and weapons ammunition would reach as much as a mile in length and would travel only as fast as the slowest flatbed in the convoy, often only about 40 MPH. They were slow moving big fat targets. We never lost a bomb. Nor did we lose any of our protectees, the men and women who would gather up these shipments and blow them up inside other ASPs which we would secure 24/7.

We never had the help of any US military formation or unit. We guarded our posts ourselves and even served, in some cases, as sergeant of the guard to Iraqi National Guard units based on or near the ASPs. Nobody supplied us with a single round of ammunition for the M 16s, M4s and SAW machines guns we used on this job. We scrounged all our resources and ammunition from friendly US armories.

I served in almost every part of Iraq to include the Mosul area, Baghdad, Falluja and Baji. I have been ambushed near the Iranian border and along MSR One Tampa near Baji and Taji and also in central Baghdad and have transported high explosives and personnel of the US Army and Marine Corps to the Syrian border regions. I have been in convoys attacked with IEDs as well as the follow up small arms fire. I have been in a convoy formation that came to the aid of a formation of 3 US Army Humvees which were under attack, one Humvee destroyed and a poor soldier boy laying dead in the middle of the road.

I say all of this to you to present my bona fides, shall we say, as one who has traveled all across Iraq and watched, from the up-armoured side door of my Ford F-350 pickup truck, the tremendous change that took place in the nearly two years I was there along these routes. Housing starts are the incredible thing. So many hundreds of new or remodeled homes. And then there are the schools and the heretofore unusual scence of an actual school bus picking up and transporting children. You should see how eagerly these children embrace the opportunity to learn.

There are so many Iraqis eager to embrace economic opportunity as well. One man from the town of Ha' tra, south of Mosul, supplied a small fleet of flatbeds for the support of an ASP near that place. The bad guys kidnapped one of his sons and told him that if he continued to work for the Americans they would kill him. He replied "I have many sons". They did indeed kill his son but this old man continued to supply trucks and drivers for the efforts of the EOD operations in the area.

Another Iraq opened what we would call "a hadji shop" which he named "7-11" and put up a huge sign in front just like the ones in the USA. His name is Makmoud and he served as a Colonel in the Iraqi Air Force under Saddam. He worked as a translator for the US Army as well. Makmoud, like thousands of other Iraqis, used this money to improve his house in Mosul.

It was my experience that for every "insurgent" (which we merely called murderers, rapists, blackmailers, kidnappers and strong arm bandits) there are 100 other men who work hard, keep the peace and raise their families with the hope of a better future now clearly within their grasp. But they do live in fear and this cannot be denied. However, they are willing to pitch in and often help in identifying these "insurgents" in their midst and their sons who serve in the Iraqi Army are also eager to do battle with the "insurgents" which threaten their homes and families.

Anyway just thought I'd write and add my voice to those who are mystified by the coverage I see on the news broadcasts in the USA.

Homage to "Mike" the K9 'Sheriff' from Scotland

Hey, gang... this is a personal issue for me today. I recently received an email from a close, personal friend of mine. His name is Stu McAllister, and he's a Police Officer with the Strathclyde Police in Glasgow, Scotland. He is a K9 officer, but recently lost his best friend and partner. I thought his recent email remembrance about "Mike" was worthy of posting.

"Mike was a police dog. On the very day he retired he took ill, spending the next four days on a drip in the Vet hospital, near death. After those four days he pulled out the drip and began to improve, but slowly.

I asked the Vet for her best guess and was told I would be lucky if he lasted 6 months, she was being optimistic but she was wrong.

Mike was donated to the police at 8 months, his owner was in remission but his cancer returned with a vengeance and he also was given 6 months. His family and friends all offered to take on the pup but he decided he would have a better life as a police dog.

We don't normally keep in contact with the people who donate our dogs but this was a little different, I visited regularly, taking Mike with me. He also confounded the medics surviving two years after his terminal diagnosis; some of that tenacity must have brushed off on Mike.

As a General Purpose Police Dog, Mike's initial training course was fun and he took to the game with gusto, qualifying easily. He was just over a year old when he hit the street.

Mike soon made a name for himself; his first apprehension was in our home town after a guy tried to steal a car. I happened to be in town and was on scene in a couple of minutes. I set him to track and off he went, along the street, up some steps to another street and round the corner, about a quarter of a mile at most. Suddenly he looked over a low wall and I knew by his body language he had found something.

He didn't bark, which surprised me as he did it every time in training. I commanded the suspect to come out and told Mike to 'speak', which he duly did.

I had become separated from my backup and began to march the handcuffed suspect back towards the vehicle, telling Mike 'watch-im' as we went. The suspect eventually asked: 'is this a training session for your dog?' to which I replied in the affirmative. 'Oh, OK' he said and off he went to jail.

He was a large, long haired dog and I always knew when he was homing in on the bad guy, he seemed to grow 4 inches and his tail went straight up like a flag! When I saw that, I just used to start running as I knew he would soon have an apprehension.

His next find was a 93 year old woman, missing from a nursing home. When he found her in the area already searched by nursing home staff she was suffering from hypothermia but due to Mike's timely arrival, she survived relatively unscathed.

There were numerous apprehensions and a couple more missing persons as the years passed. I even acquired a police badge (US style, for his collar) which he wore to displays and sometimes on patrol, sad eh? It had his name and such on it and I thought it was cool.

He was wearing it one night when he found a bad guy hiding in some bushes. This idiot had tried to break into a car but had been disturbed. When Mike found him and barked, the bad guy lashed out at him with his feet. That was a very bad idea and he suffered the consequences.

After the usual kafuffle getting the guy under control, handcuffed and generally arrested I asked him why he had not come out when I called my warning and why on earth he had kicked the dog.

He maintained he had not heard me, and indeed did not know it was a police dog. I shone my torch on Mike, lying 10 feet away. 'Didn't know it was a police dog, did you not you see his badge?' I asked. The guy looked crestfallen and swiftly apologised. The other cops thought this was a hoot, and big John christened him 'The Sheriff' right there and then!

Every time he called for us after that he asked for 'The Sheriff' to attend.

I suppose if he had a fault it was his food fixation, he would have eaten till he burst if I had let him. He even discovered how to open the refrigerator! I came downstairs one morning to discover he had done in £40 worth of Tesco’s finest. It had not agreed with him and there was a bit of a mess on the floor, enough said.

I thought it would be good if he could get a really good criminal apprehension as he approached retirement age but we were in a lean spell. He had a few finds but they were pretty run of the mill, nothing special.

Then one night we were sent to our local hospital where a woman in her 40's had absconded from the supposedly secure psychiatric unit. She had previously attempted suicide so there was an obvious concern for her safety, it took us about an hour but eventually Mike found her in the middle of rhododendron patch.

I thought we were too late, I have seen a few dead bodies in my time and I was not hopeful. Luckily I was proven wrong and she moaned as I approached her. I swear Mike knew he had saved her life the way he was carrying on, he seemed as elated as I was. That was his last operational find.

He wasn't just a 'GP' dog, he specialised in Tactical Firearms Support, clearing buildings before the team would enter and backing up Armed ResponseVehicles.

On one occasion we had to place ourselves between the ARV crews, who were arresting two suspects at gunpoint, and a hostile group of relatives who were unhappy about the situation.

On another he lay on a stair landing for over an hour, covering the upper floor while the team forced entry to a basement through a wall. He would have given us an early warning should anyone have tried to approach from that direction. The team trusted him and often said they felt a lot safer when Mike had cleared a building.

He actually worked a year past his retirement age because we were short of dogs with his specialism. It was after my new dog qualified as a TFU support dog I put both of them into kennels for the weekend while I left for a short break.

On the Sunday I got a call to say he had to be carried into the vet's.

Mike is gone now, he lived for another year, but I know as long as there are cops who still remember the night Mike caught their bad guy he will not truly be gone."

I gotta admit.. when it comes to animals, I'm a real softie; especially police dogs. They serve with compassion, loyalty, and bravery. I've seen many pictures of Mike, although Stu never could bring him to the States when he came to visit, I still know how close a bond there was between Stu and his partner. I just had to share this... Please say a prayer for my friend, Stu, and thank God for dogs like Mike whose only mission in life is to help mankind. Today I shed many tears for the loss of my friend's best friend.

Author Dick Morris wrote a brilliant piece in "The Hill" today about a journalist who has decided to trade in his PC for an M16.

Titled "A Young Man and His Ideals," Morris chronicles the life of Matt Pottinger, who "has served as a correspondent for The Wall Street Journal in China for nearly five years." Matt has had some eye-opening experiences, and subsequent to that, is enlisted in the United States Marine Corps.

"His is a story of a patriotism and commitment underscored and emphasized by the lessons he has learned living in one of the most politically repressive societies on the planet. There is so much we can all learn from him about China and about our own country.
"The regime in China," Matt contends, "is held up by two props: economic advancement and control of news and information. The government is very good at both."
How can a modern government police how 1.3 billion people who use the vast resources of the Internet? Pottinger explains: "The authorities spend countless man hours, involving tens of thousands of officials, monitoring what the Chinese people are accessing online."
And, he adds, Western companies facilitate their task by selling the sophisticated equipment and software that Beijing uses to maintain the new wall of China - its Internet firewall.
Pottinger says that living up close and personal under an authoritarian government made him value freedom all the more. He remembers once interviewing Chinese workers who were protesting official corruption only to be approached by a government thug - at a Starbucks in Beijing, no less - who punched him and said: "You will get f- - -ing out of the country. Right now."
Matt, however, defied the warning and remained in China and continued trying to report the truth despite official intimidation."

Why is it that so many on the looney Left have a problem with grasping what is truly behind Socialism, Marxism, and Communism? They are the ones who support these ideals, but if they had their way, many of them would be either executed or exiled for the rest of their natural lives!

It just goes to show you... the Left knows nothing about the "Terrible Truth about Communism." In essence, Communism is the ultimate fight against individualism, which is core to the true American way of life! The caveat is this: individualism not only brings prosperity; it also carries with it personal responsibility for the individual's actions. And that is something the democrooks cannot truly grasp.

On Ash Wednesday of 2004, a few days before Casey left for Iraq, his dad and I went to see The Passion of the Christ. That was our Ash Wednesday penance that year. Casey's dad fell asleep during the scourging scene while I sat in my seat and quietly sobbed.
I was especially touched by the character that played Jesus' mom who followed her son along while he was being violently tortured and killed by devious men with an evil agenda. Of course, since I became a mom over 26 years ago, I have identified with Mary as she sobbed at the foot of her sons cross and cradled his lifeless body in her arms.
I am recounting all of this, because since Casey was killed in Iraq by devious men with evil agendas, I find it extremely difficult to go to the movies.

Yesterday, I went to the same movie theater in Vacaville, Ca. that Casey and I loved to attend. My sister and I saw the movie Serenity. It was a good science fiction flick which was entertaining and had many parallels with what is going on in our world today.

Speaking of science fiction, will somebody please tell Louie Freak-a-khan to take her back to the Motherwheel already? The ship is leaving and she needs to head back home!

It's Called a "Theory" for a Reason

Yes, I'm talking about "Darwin's Theory." I am flummoxed that the Left is so apoplectic about the suggestion of another "theory" being taught in schools!!?!?!?! Yes, this argument has yet-again reared its ugly head, and the ACLU is ready at the helm to destroy every effort for such teachings.

According to a "World Peace Herald" article;

A U.S. federal judge is now being asked to decide whether a local school board acted unconstitutionally when it adopted a policy mandating that science students be told about intelligent design.

In 2004, the Dover, Pennsylvania, school board decided that students studying Darwinian evolution should be informed that there is a competing theory called intelligent design (ID).

Students are not required to learn anything about ID; they are simply told that there is a book about it in the school library, and they are
encouraged to keep an open mind.

Is it just me, or am I the only person who thinks there is nothing wrong with merely suggesting there's an opposing idea to Darwin's theory, and that the reading material is available in the school's library? Nobody in this case that I've read about suggest that it be adopted into the school curricula of Science (which, by the way, Darwinism is taught as a "proven" theory). So, why not let students know that's not the only "idea" out there? This stinks to high heaven (oops! sorry) of slamming the 1st Amendment!

The whole idea behind theories is that they are just that: "theories." They can be challenged, debated, or whatever else you want to call it, but HOLY cow (oops! my bad, sorry about the "holy" reference again)... Heaven forbid (Dang! there I go again!), anyway... you get my drift...

Just let one person, even a representative of a government school *GASP!*, propose such a thing, and the ACLU idiots get their granny-panties in a bunch! By the way, have you noticed that our Government schools (i.e., "public schools") are doing such a BANG-UP job of turning out productive members of society lately???? Didn't think so...

Again, the ACLU just couldn't resist this opportunity to get into the limelight...

This was too much for the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), which brought suit to have the Dover policy declared unconstitutional.
Some people are now comparing the 2005 Dover trial to the 1925 Scopes trial, in which the ACLU defended a teacher named John Scopes who had been accused of violating a state law prohibiting public schools from teaching that humans are descended from lower forms of life.

But there is a huge difference between the two: In 1925 the ACLU went to court to permit the teaching of Darwinian evolution; now, the ACLU is suing to prohibit the teaching of anything but Darwinian evolution.

This article is a MUST read and a wake-up call to all. Everybody should do their homework on Darwinism, and come to terms with what it really is - a theory.

Now, the only case that I can think of that MIGHT prove Darwinism resides in the Senate House in the great state of Massachussetts, and is reported to be a VERY good swimmer!

Al Qaeda Terrorist Claims His Warnings Ignored

According to a CNSNews.com article from Oct 10th, an Al Qaeda terrorist who is currently serving a 12-year prison term in Zenica prison in Bosnia-Herzegovina (flag right) for terrorism and robbery, said that he had sent repeated warnings for more than three years about threats to Britain, Italy and Spain, but that they have all gone unheeded:

Ali Ahmed Ali Hamad, who is currently serving a 12-year prison term in Zenica prison in Bosnia-Herzegovina for terrorism and robbery, states that for more than three years - from November 2001 to January 2005 -- he repeatedly offered in letters and "official interviews" to provide information on al Qaeda's operations in Bosnia and elsewhere.
Hamad adds that his efforts included two letters, sent on Jan. 12 and 19 of 2004, to Lord Paddy Ashdown, the international community's High Representative to Bosnia-Herzegovina, which, according to Hamad, Ashdown ignored.
On Jan. 10 of this year, Hamad wrote a nine-page letter from prison, addressed to local news editors in Bosnia, complaining about being ignored. Cybercast News Service obtained a copy of the letter and confirmed its contents in a conference call with Hamad's newly-appointed attorney, Dusko Tomic, and an independent translator.(Click here to view copy of original letter. One has to wonder why anybody like this would be ignored, but part of me wants to think that his warnings were taken to heart, but either: a) they couldn't prove them, or b) they did heed them and were working on gathering further intel.

The article goes on to further state:

In August, Cybercast News Service posted an edited version of a video, which had been obtained from ISSA, showing a jihadist training camp in Bosnia.The Cybercast News Service article accompanying the terrorist training camp video ended up on the front pages of news organizations in the Balkans, but Bosnian government officials and Gen. David Leakey of the European Union Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina (EUFOR) denied there were any terrorist camps in the region.
Bosnia's top Muslim weekly, Slobodna Bosna, confirmed the existence of the training camps and insisted the European Union general was "playing dumb."
One month later, al Qaeda activity in the area was confirmed by German intelligence sources as well, as reported by United Press International.
Hamad's letter also singles out Gen. Virgil Packett, the former commander of the Stabilisation Force in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SFOR) for doubting that there were al Qaeda terrorists in the region, even while admitting that there could be "sleepers."
"[T]he terrorists who perpetrated the September 11 attacks ... were peaceful sleepers before they received their order to attack," warned Hamad in his letter.

What a stark yet true observation of something that did come to fruition!

Folks, in this day and age, even if something does turn out to be proven false, then the only harm to be done that I can find is that we would get into the "boy who cried wolf" complacency. Well guess what? Even though that boy hasn't cried wolf that much lately anyway, I believe we have truly forgotten the lessons of the past, and that complacency does exist in us... like it or not.

What's In the Kool-Aid at UNICEF?

I heard about this fundraising campaign in Belgium being talked about on the radio yesterday, but I didn't imagine how horrific it might be. Although the word picture painted by the description was pretty macabre, seeing this screen shot from the fundraising campaign video using the beloved Smurfs just solidifies my anger.

UNICEF, the wing of the UN that does fundraising for humanitarian aid for children, is using this newest anti-war video in their latest donation drives. Breibart broke the story today via the AP. Here's a snippet:

Smurfette is left for dead. Baby Smurf is left crying and orphaned as the Smurf's village is carpet bombed by warplanes _ a horrific scene and imagery not normally associated with the lovable blue-skinned
cartoon characters.

These are the scenes being shown as part of a new UNICEF ad-campaign on Belgian television.

"It's working. We are getting a lot of reactions and people are logging on to our Web site," UNICEF Belgium spokesman Philippe Henon said Tuesday.
The Belgian office of the U.N. children's fund said it has decided to use the creations of late Belgian artist Peyo to shock a complacent public into backing its fund-raising efforts for ex-child soldiers in Africa.
The 20-second video commercial clip now being shown on Belgian TV aims to show that war can happen in the most innocent of places, Henon said.
"We get reactions from all over the place," said Henon. "People are shocked and want to know the reasons behind this cartoon image."
The appeal is meant to raise money for UNICEF projects in Burundi, Congo and Sudan, Henon said. However, due to its graphic and disturbing scenes, this cartoon is not for everyone. The advertisement is aimed at an adult audience and is only shown after 9 p.m. to avoid upsetting young Smurfs fans.
The video is peacefully introduced by birds, butterflies and happy smurfs playing and singing their theme song when suddenly out of the sky, bombs rain down onto their forest village, scattering Papa Smurf and the rest as their houses are set ablaze.
The bombs kill Smurfette leaving Baby Smurf orphaned and crying at the edge of a crater in the last scene of the video and finishing of with the text "don't let war destroy the children's world."

It calls on viewers to donate.

Remember, one of the famous ambassadors for UNICEF is the beloved Hollyweirdette, Angelina Jolie. "Jolie has been a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees since 2001."

I don't know about you all, but I've never believed that any arm of the UN was serving the United States any purpose whatsoever. I'm still waiting for Bolton to lop off those top 10 floors. He was right... it WOULD be a good start!

As my friend likes to refer to them, they really should be called the "UNTIED" Nations!

Damned if We Do, and Even More Damned WHEN We Do!

I have been waiting for this to happen, but my wait wasn't long. The peace-loving Muslims of Pakistan are slamming the West for not acting fast enough, and with not enough money after the earthquake! Excuse me? Since when have we really "owed" Pakistan anything? I know they've been our "ally" in the war on terror, but I say "Hand over Usama bin Laden, and we'll give you all the aid you need!" Get ready for a dose of insensitivity here, folks!

I am sick and tired of this "gimme" attitude that has become so pervasive in the world, even in our enemy countries, because they know the world's "Daddy Warbucks" will always come through with the cash and goods in times of need. However, the more and more we help, the less and less they appreciate it, but they damn well expect it!

According to the Independent Online today:

Western governments rushed to step up their pledges for the earthquake relief effort after their initial response to the disaster was condemned as slow-moving and financially inadequate.
The United States, which was under pressure to increase a pledge of $500,000 (£280,000) considered almost derisory by many Pakistanis when it was made over the weekend, announced it intended to give $50m in emergency aid.
The gesture, intended to make up for the resentment caused by an initial pledge which, along with the British offering of £100,000, was labelled as "peanuts" by Qazi Hussain, the leader of the Pakistani opposition party Jamat Islami, was greeted as a major boost to the struggling relief effort.

Peanuts? $500,00 is "peanuts?" Folks, we've got our own damn problems right here in the United States with all the natural disasters WE'VE suffered lately! When in God's name are we going to say "enough is enough." Remember the poll that was taken not too long ago in Europe, where 58% of the respondents said they wished for a "weaker United States?" Well, how about if we said "Sorry Musharraf... we're just too weak to respond." I am sick to death of the Euro-Weenies & others complaining about us being the world's superpower, playing "planet police," but by God, when they are deseparate and need help, just whose pockets do they want to jam their hands down? OURS! And they want to dig REAL DEEP!

It is likely that private donations, as usual, from Americans will far surpass government funding, as Americans have proven to be the most benevolent lot on this earth! Is it appreciated? Hell no! Is it expected? Hell yes! But the beauty of this country, is that even though this is the case, our benevolent nature will probably never wane. That's just the way we are.

I just hope to hell some secret "rescue" units go traversing through that mountainous region of Pakistan, find UBL's dead, crushed body, and give it the "Nick Berg" treatment. Then put his severed head on a stick smack dab in the middle of the square in Mecca,and put his four limbs in four corners around Iraq. Think that might send a much-needed message to the Islamofasict thugs? It damn sure wouldn't hurt to try. I'm all for it, are you?

And don't ask me what I think Qazi Hussain should do with his damn "peanuts!" I think you already know that answer.

While we're talking about "Crazy Qazi," here's some very interesting reading about him. Quite a curriculum veritae! Yeah, we need him as a pal!

Mexico Hits Sour Note With THIS American!

This just about takes the cake for me. We know all-too-well how Vicente Fox LOVES American money, and wants nothing more than fully open borders. His government encourages their people to "go to America, prosper and send back the money!," all the while our country is growing weaker and weaker due to the border control issues.

Then I read an article in last Sunday's Atlanta Journal Constitution (known locally better as the "Al Jazeera Constitution" or the "Atlanta Journal Constipation") about the Mexican government's feelings of "Mexican-American influence" in their country. Que pasa en este pais?

According to the article, they have a little bit of trepidation about U.S. influence in their country and this truly confounds me. They damn sure don't mind sharing their Mexican influence all over the friggin' United States, and even laud it!

Here's the absurdity, in toto, for those of you who do not want to register for the AJC to read the article (check out bugmenot.com to learn how to get around this for just about every online newspaper)

Band hits sour note with Mexico

Mexico City --- Most members of the bilingual band Kumbia Kings carry U.S. passports, but as a manager of the musicians put it, "they pretty much work, eat and breathe Mexico." So when the Tex-Mex group appeared on a nationally televised Mexican talk show last month --- with a guitar emblazoned with the colors and symbols of Mexico's national flag --- they thought it would be clear the guitar was a gesture of pride in their Mexican heritage.
Wrong.
Since that fateful mid-September appearance, bass guitarist A.B. Quintanilla III, brother of the late singer Selena, and the rest of the Kings have been answering to news reports here that the Mexican government took offense at the guitar.
Somebody in the bowels of an obscure sub-agency called the Department of Civic Promotion saw the Kings play on television and decided the guitar violated Mexico's law on protection of national symbols.
Not only that, an agency spokesman confirmed someone in this same department concluded the guitar violated two international treaties, including something called the Treaty of Paris on trademark protection.
The violation could result in a letter of complaint from Mexico to the U.S. State Department, or a fine levied against the band.
"Wow . . . really?" is all band assistant Bert Trevino could say at first when he was reached at his McAllen, Texas, home and informed that the band had struck a sour note with the bureaucracy. "A.B. loves Mexico, man. He didn't do it to disrespect anybody," a dumbfounded Trevino added.
The Kumbia Kings are developing a huge following among Latinos in the United States and in Latin America, where they travel this weekend to play in Bolivia. Next week they are scheduled to play at least three sold-out shows in Mexico City.
Unwittingly, the band also seems to have wandered into the thorny divide between officialdom in Mexico City and the culture of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans who live in the United States.
Some Mexican officials have trouble coming to terms with mounting U.S. influence in Mexico, including that of Mexican-Americans. (well, isn't that a coincidence? we have a HUGE problem coming to terms with the mounting Mexican influence in the U.S.!!!)
"You must always keep in mind we have a hate-love relationship with the United States. We want the business, but there is resentment, too," said Rossana Fuentes, who has explored the U.S.-Mexico relationship as deputy director of Foreign Affairs magazine in Spanish.
She called the flap over the flag on the guitar "stupid." "Who's minding the shop over there? What kind of a priority is that?" she asked of the Secretariat of Government.
In another example of discomfort, Mexico's Congress voted this year to allow potentially hundreds of thousands of Mexicans abroad --- in the United States, mainly --- to vote in the July 2006 presidential election. But the Congress and elections officials also barred candidates from campaigning or giving interviews on foreign soil.
Presidential candidate Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador chose to cancel an appearance in Los Angeles rather than risk being fined or disqualified for making a campaign-related stop abroad.
The Kumbia Kings also drew heat recently when they played at a rally in Coahuila state for a gubernatorial candidate from Mexico's National Action Party. The opposing Institutional Revolutionary Party filed a complaint with election officials that the Kings had broken a law prohibiting foreigners from involvement in politics.
"We're just trying to make a living. We're not for anyone in politics," said David "Chocolate" Martinez, the Kings' road manager.
The Kings have been hired to play at other political events for other political parties in Mexico, he said, but won't do it again.
The Mexican government has taken on Mexican artists, too, for alleged abuse of national symbols. Pop star Luis Miguel was told to remove a flag design from a CD cover, and a mariachi singer was fined $45 last year for muffing the national anthem at a soccer game. A Mexican poet could face jail because he's been accused of violating the honor of the flag for writing a poem about cleaning up urine with it.
Quintanilla has decided to remove the flag symbols from his guitar, but band members still can't understand how anyone would think what they were doing was an offense.
"We're proud of where our ancestors came from," manager Martinez said in a phone interview in Mexico City before departing for Bolivia. "When A.B. puts something on his guitar, he puts something on it that is dear to him."

Okay, am I the only one who thinks this is even slightly hypocritical? They are worried about U.S., or "American" influence intertwining with their own Mexican national culture? Who in the hell are they to even judge that, when it seems that every time we try to do some thing to enforce the laws of OUR country and protect our borders, we're called racist bigots, and Mexico threatens us with their Army's presence at our borders? Hell, after reading this article, I'm ready to go join the Minuteman Project myself! What gall!

Or in other words, "No puedo creer que grande son los cojones del gobierno de Mexico!"

Ann Coulter on "Squeal" Time with Bill Maher

I love to see Bill Maher have guests like Ann Coulter on, because this is probably the only time that he has guests of any substance on his show (except for the occasional appearance of Christopher Hitchens). Maher asks her about Miers, DeLay, Rove, and the usual looney left conspiracy theories.

Funny how since he & Ann are friends, he admonishes his audience from booing her. I think she rather likes the boos... and I certainly like her! I nominate Ann Coulter for the Supreme Court!

Half of the U.S. is "Stuck on Stupid"

This is one of the best reads I've seen... Leave it to our military men & women to have an honest and unbiased view, because they are the ones on the front-lines protecting the freedoms of America. From Lt. Col. Michael Burkert, US Army (ret.), in the Octobber 8th edition on of TheRant.us.

I was reminiscing this morning about how wonderful our past 4th of July was. In Germany, it was just another workday for the Germans, but not for us. Our U.S. Forces celebrated with not only military pomp, but also pride in their hearts. I saw this; it made me proud to be an American.
Back in the United States, there were the normal 4th of July parades in cities and towns. Proud soldiers, sailors and marines stood at rigid attention when our flag past, and rendered snappy salutes in memory of all the fallen Americans who fought and won our many wars. The old World War II heroes, their slightly younger Korean War compatriots as well as us Vietnam guys stopped and remembered those we lost in far off places. Our current heroes who fight in far off Afghanistan and Iraq were represented as well. Their memories are not as distant as ours are, yet they stood the 4th of July parade this year as proud as any of their predecessors. No doubt the same pride I witnessed here in Germany.
Yet sadly, there is another element in our nation. An element that could careless about the 4th of July and thinks that service men and women are all chumps, thugs and losers. The exception is when liberals can use a service member or in the case of that nutty woman, the mother of an American hero. That nutty woman turned left on her hero son’s very grave! She’s now the darling of America’s leftist anti-war morons, who use her as a means to damage our country. She’s a pawn in the left’s efforts to sow doubt, deception and defeatism.
This is an element deceived by dark forces. Dark forces that are bent on the very destruction of our nation, the United States of America. That element would rather burn our flag, than to salute it. They would rather desecrate our flag and not honor what it stands for.
That deceived element of our country assumes we are not at war. That element still clings to the notion that Islam is a religion of love, peace, understanding and tolerance. They believe that terrorism is a police problem, and that the police need to arrest perpetrators, and insure that their “rights” are observed. Many liberals view terrorism as something the American people deserve. To some liberals, terrorism is just a mater of “Abdullah, Mohammed and the boys exercising their rights.”

Religion of Peace? Give me a BREAK!

So many on the looney left are so disillusioned as to what we are truly fighting against. Sadly, these days we are not only fighting the enemy abroad, but we're also fighting the enemy within. That enemy goes by the names Jane Fonda, Cindy Sheehan, Teddy *hick* Kennedy, Chuck-E-Cheese Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, Dick "the Turban" Durbin, Patrick "Leaky" Leahy, Martin Sheen, Whoopi Goldberg, Barbra Streisand, Michael Moore, etc., etc., etc. ad infinitum. You get the idea, right?

Thank God for people like Lt. Col Burkert. You are one of the reasons I am not only able to post these messages here, but also why I am SO very proud to be an American!

Stupid Terrorist Tricks

This had to come sooner or later... but even later, it proves that stupidity knows no bounds. And just as cops benefit from stupid criminals, all Americans also benefit from "stupid terrorists." I have changed my mind about stupid people. I used to think they should be outlawed, but the more and more I hear about them (e.g. "Jihad" Cindy Sheehan) and see the fruits of their labors, the more I WANT them to be out there in FULL force to show the rest of the world that we really know what we're doing when we appropriately castigate them for being just that... "stupid."

The article spells it out:

One would think Mahmoud Maawad, a 29-year-old illegal immigrant from Egypt living in Memphis, Tenn., would lay low and stay out of trouble. But no, he defiantly did just the opposite.
He used a fake Social Security number to open a bank account, arrange for household utilities, and enroll at the University of Memphis business school. He worked off-the-books at a convenience store and in early 2005 sold alcohol to a minor, for which he was arrested. And then, in mid-2005, he ordered US$3,300 worth of airline-related goods from Sporty's Pilot Shop, including such items as an airline pilot's uniform, a flight gear bag, a radio communications handbook, and an instructional DVD titled "How an Airline Captain Should Look and Act."
To top it off, he placed the order on an overdrawn credit card. Sporty's, not surprisingly, informed the FBI about Mr. Maawad's order and federal agents searched his apartment in September. There they found flight simulation software and detailed information on Memphis International Airport. Mr. Maawad was then indicted for wire fraud and fraudulent use of a Social Security number.
While it's far from established that Maawad had terrorism on his mind, his actions are sufficiently suspicious to enroll him as an honorary member in my newly created "Stupid Terrorists Club." He joins plenty of others:

Mohammed Salameh, the terrorist who returned to the rental agency in 1993 to retrieve the $400 deposit he had paid on a truck subsequently used to blow up the World Trade Center. His penny-pinching lead to his own capture and that of several other bombers.
Zacarias Moussaoui, thought to have been the would-be 20th hijacker of the September 11, 2001, attacks, was sitting in jail on that date because his disheveled and impoverished appearance at a flight instruction school was so discordant ("there's really something wrong with this guy") that two of its staff phoned the FBI. In April 2005, Moussaoui pleaded guilty to six counts of conspiracy to commit terrorism.
Michael Wagner, an African-American convert to Islam associated with Al-Qaeda, did not wear a seat belt and that got him stopped by the police in July 2004 near Council Bluffs, Iowa. His car contained "flight training manuals and a simulator, documents in Arabic, bulletproof vests and night-vision goggles, a night-vision scope for a rifle, a telescope, a 9mm semiautomatic pistol and hundreds of rounds of ammunition."
Zaynab Khadr, accused by Canadian authorities of having "willingly participated and contributed both directly and indirectly towards enhancing the ability of Al Qaeda to facilitate its criminal activities," returned to Canada in February with a computer chock full of documents that the authorities say "provide insights into the tactics, techniques and procedures" of Al-Qaeda and other groups.
Sami Ibrahim Isa Abdel Hadi, 39, was stopped in May for tailgating in Ridgefield Park, N.J. When a police officer called in Abdel Hadi's North Carolina license plates, he learned that Abdel Hadi had been ordered deported to Brazil in December 2001 and is listed in the FBI's National Crime Information Center database. Even more alarmingly, he had a valid temporary identity card permitting him to paint the George Washington Bridge (a high-profile potential terrorist target).
When an accused Los Angeles terror gang, the Assembly of Authentic Islam, needed money for arms, it robbed gas stations rather than obtain funds legally. One of its holdup artists dropped a mobile phone during a June robbery, which the police retrieved and used to unravel the plot and arrest the conspirators.
Other famous dumb terrorists include Yu Kikumura, a member of the Japanese Red Army whose odd behavior prompted a search of his car at a New Jersey Turnpike rest stop in April 1988, turning up three powerful bombs.
Or Timothy McVeigh, apprehended in April 1995 after bombing the Oklahoma City federal building that killed 168 people, because his car lacked a license plate.
Counterterrorism is a difficult business, so it is fortunate that terrorists often act dumb.
Why can't they keep out of trouble until the big day? In part, because terrorists, like other criminals, are usually not the sharpest knives in the drawer; and in part because their ideology and hatred cause them to disdain the enemy, leading them to take unnecessary risks.
As a result, the rest of us are a little bit safer.

Amen to that! I'm for keeping the gene pool polluted for the foreseeable future!

My husband is a liar and a cheat. He cheated on me from the beginning, and when I confront him, he denies everything. What's worse, everyone knows he cheats on me. It is so humiliating. Also, since he lost his job five years ago he hasn't even looked for a new one. All he does is buy cigars, play golf, cruise around, and shoot the breeze with his pals, while I have to work to pay the bills. Since our daughter graduated from college he doesn't even pretend to like me and hints that I am a lesbian. What should I do?

The Clintonistas are sweating this one out, but I don't think they're going to get any love with this one. And who the hell does Sandy "the pants Burglar" think he is, in postulating his "opinion:"?

"The president did not raise in any fashion the issue of his library."

Oh, really he didn't? Isn't there such a thing as "libel" and "slander?" If that's the case, then since Freeh so fervently made the case and the statements, the Clintons have every right to sue him! Not only that, but Bob Novak, in 2002, wrote a piece about that very thing! (yes... $20M for the Clinton library/massage parlor)

Do you think they will sue Freeh? No... because they know they're in the wrong! Just like Shrillary has NEVER sued Dick Morris, who has made it his personal mission in life to make SURE the Hildabeast is not elected in '08!
